Actually, I think he bought a stolen computer rather than stole the computer. A little different, but not much.

Did auburnsports.com, in particular Jeff lee jump the gun on the newton announcement?

I don't know if that count's for lineman...but for QB's, absolutely. We signed the Simms kid for depth purposes only I'm sure. We also have another JUCO QB in Lamaison. Doesn't look good for next year...

Cam is gonna be Tan Marino!

Alabama is only undefeated right now because of Carpenter, a JUCO transfer o-lineman.......
Oregon is only in the Rose Bowl because of a JUCO transfer QB.....

I'm not saying JUCOs can't come in and be solid contributors or great players, but u don't want to have an incoming JUCO penciled in on your depth chart as a starter in an upcoming season.
You never know how they'll adjust to the speed on the game, especially in the SEC. JUCO QBs especially have little or no track record of success in the SEC.
Plus, it's an indictment of where your program is that you have to anoint a heralded JUCO as the savior. We did it with Brent Schaeffer, FWIW.

I don't know where this kid will end up playing, but I think he'll be a good one. The only reason he was at JUCO was because of the trouble he got into, not because of a lack of talent and ability, so it's a different situation right off the bat.....
After a disastrous 98 season and a poor 99 season, Rudi Johnson resurrected Auburn's program in 2000 and we went to Atlanta that year. This wouldn't be the first time we had a JUCO guy pan out and end up being a star.....

For the record, he wasn't the greatest backup quarterback when he played at Florida. That's why we weren't worried when he left.

Speaking of QB's leaving....I bet you are worried now!

Yeah like I said, JUCO players pan out all the time, you just don't want to have to rely on their production coming into a season when they are a virtual unknown.
Any JUCO QBs that have made waves in the SEC recently? Cam has a shot to be good clearly, but it's all TBD at this point. HTH

Like I said, this is a different situation....most JUCO QB's are there because of a lack of ability. Cam is there because of getting into trouble.
Howeva, I will say this: Chris Todd beat y'alls arse this year and he was a JUCO QB. Have you seen his numbers? They were better than most QB's in the conference.....

First I heard he was announcing today. Then I heard he had pushed the date back again. What gives?

I think the situation is this: Cam wants to go to Auburn, but Dad wants him to go to MSU......for Cam to get to Auburn, Dad wants to visit with the coaches one more time. On Saturday, it goes from a dead period to a quiet period for JUCO players. This means they can have on-campus contact with the coaches.
I think he and his dad are visiting Auburn on Saturday to visit with the coaches so that his dad is comfortable with Cam's wishes to enroll at Auburn.
I would expect an announcement one way or the other anytime from Saturday night through Monday.......
