8-14 for 118 and a TD in the 4th quarter.

Not a bad 4th quarter against a power 5 opponent away from home, with limited prep, in his first game action.

Of course, he was just terrible before the 4th…

The other three quarters matter, and that's still a 50% and change completion percentage. He's simply not good ...

Kid did good considering the circumstances in which he entered the game. And he actually started to show flashes mid to late 3rd quarter. You have a keeper.

Didn't he have all Fall Practice to prepare?

Jimbo did a good job with keeping his head in the game and being patient with him. You could see him gaining confidence as the game progressed

He’ll be fine. No chance he’s as consistently poor as he was in the first three quarters. Haynes King was named the starter for a reason, but Calzada will do better with first team reps and with the players around him adapting to him.

I know leadership, not football. The kid has it.

Look. Don't cliff jump. PIt's this simple.we don't know yet but in 1 game at back up you hope to get better as in a tune up game right.

So do not down play the 4th Q. It was excellent. Basically take fumble away he led not 1 but 2 comeback drives. And imagine the guts being ripped out after td reversal and to just do it again.

We neverused to could get 1 of those drives. He did it twice.

So. He either got lucky or was learning. Hopelly he was learning and continues to.

I see the issues it's too soon. Let it play out.

Calzada got better as the game progressed, but this is not the time for on-the-job training.

Not too confident we win another game. We're now a .500 team at best.

Any team with a solid run defense (most of the SEC) is going to be a problem with this QB ... What was Fisher's record after Francois went down? Look for something similar

No idea. Fisher has his work cut out for him.

Most important thing BY FAR was how the team rallied around him and stuck together. The D told him hang in there and they will hold Colorado- just get us one TD.

The team went crazy around him when he first scored (later negated by fumble review) and later.

Jimbo has this team believing in each other. Discount it if you wish, but there is a completely new culture at A&M.

Hiw will they do without King? I dont know, but I do know theyre not sitting around worrying about it. That aint who they are now- they play with a chip on their shoulder, and a quiet belief they will find a way.

He was shaky at first but finally made some plays. Lots of room to improve
