Of the top 15 rated recruits in the state of California (based on 24/7 composite rankings)...1 signed with a California school on Wednesday. None of the top 10 signed with a California school. Here is the breakdown of how it all went down:

1. Oregon
2. Alabama
3. Clemson
4. Georgia
5. Utah
6. Georgia
7. Did not sign
8. Washington
9. Did not sign
10. Ohio State
11. Arizona State
12. Washington
13. Oregon
14. Stanford
15. Did not sign

I think I read where USC is currently ranked #78 in recruiting. Behind Ga State and UAB, and just in front of Southern Miss.

Well they cant really afford to live in the world they've created anymore so now they're moving to Texas and trying to make it unlivable as well. I think they're working on doing the same to Denver.

There has been a mass exodus to Tennessee as well. Probably 1/2 to 2/3 of the new families in my son's middle school class are transplants from California. These, however, are evangelicals who are ultra conservative. They left California because of the far left politics, rather than the cost of living.

*Note...my son attends a Classical Christian Academy...so, that skews the population.

Last I saw, dead last in the PAC-12.

I really don't see why with every hard hit either drawing or expecting to draw a flag. It's pathetic how targeting is now a bad thing in just a few years. Those are the hits that make football football. It really is not a big deal to catch a pass coming across the middle, and back in the day, that is where possession receivers made their hay.

Oregon signing 2 of the top 15... well it is Oregon. Eugene is a nice college town, the football team landed in the Rose Bowl. They play in the PAC 12.

Georgia signing 2 of the top 15? 4 of the top 15 heading to SEC schools? 4 times as many players in that group are heading to the SEC than are heading to California schools.

That is insane. Hell, Arkansas is coming off 4-20 over the last two seasons plus we have a new coach and we managed to sew up 1/3rd of our top 15 recruits in state.

I would fire Helton based on this alone. No way that program improves with that kind of recruiting. It is unacceptable to be in a state with that much talent at a blue blood school and get those results. Amazes me he hasn't been fired.

not sure how Helton keeps his job but I'm glad he did at least so far. I was kind of sweating Meyer going there and flipping Young.

Oregon and Washington and Arizona State have solid coaching hires. Jimmy Lake, who took over for Chris Peterson at UW, is supposedly an amazing recruiter with ties to the West Coast. USC and UCLA is in trouble because the kids out there no longer care about Chip Kelly’s Oregon days and the Trojans are a shell of their former selves. You can’t say things like “Commifornia” to kids who are 16 and 17 years old. They don’t know the world yet. Their parents are maybe responsible for the economic disparity out there. Is California in a downward spiral of socioeconomic status where there’s just haves and have nots? Yeah probably. But it’s still the most populous state by a large margin. The problem is the soccer mom mentality out there that football is too dangerous and the kids in high school out there who love the game don’t want to hear about it. I don’t blame them. Go to the Southeast and the Midwest, where football is like religion on Saturdays. I have no problem with that. But the lefties out there need to soften their stance on football’s dangers because there are a lot of sports where kids will get concussions for crying out loud.

USC is totally screwed for a while. Their final hope was to get Urban in there immediately after the season, but he either didn't want to come or the administration fricked it up.

This is all on the admin though. The way they have handled Helton is ridiculous. Act like he's gonna be fired for half the season, then keep him on. I wouldn't sign on with that shite show either if I was a top recruit in CA.

Californians are nothing but locusts. Once they consume every natural resource they move on.

I really wish my Utes would hire a top flight recruiter to get all these Cali kids to come play. Whittingham does more with less, but I'd really love to see them get a top flight class or two and see what he does with it.

If you had ever told me that that the USC Trojans would have a lower ranked recruiting class than the TROY Trojans, I'd have said you were nuts. But welcome to that world.
