I always wished our bye week was before Auburn.

This needs to be addressed.
There was one year where Alabama had ~5 opponents they had a bye week.
This is not fair.
Mark packer has discussed this
Before. Make all bye weeks the same for everyone. Everyone gets October first and November seventh off.
Biggest reason: your friends that disrespect college football can have their weddings on those dates.
It could even be where the nfl gets October 8th off and November 14th off.
This way you could have the nfl play on Saturday and Sunday on the college bye week and college play in the nfl bye week.
Oct 1. Nfl plays sat/sun....no college football and your jerk friends can get married
With you in attendance.
Oct 8. College plays sat/sun. ...no nfl.

UGA is about to see what it's like to get every teams best game after two weeks of preparation.
It does make a difference over the long run.
Kirby must have pissed off the REC.

We play UTk the week before Vandy and App State the week before A&M.
We have an off week the week before Georgia and Clemson.

You are looking at it backwards. Texas A&M and Vandy have byes before they play you.

Oh, okay, that makes sense. Duh me
ETA: Wait, so why are we showing up on UGA’s or ... arrrgh, I still don’t understand.

You were wrong with your first post, but the OP still screwed it up.......

I thought the SEC stopped that shite.

They did, but the three maximum rule applies only in 14 week seasons with one bye. This is a 15 week season with two byes.

Well hell, it's confusing. That's the only reason I could be wrong about anything.
If something doesn't make sense then it throws me off. Always has.

It was 6 out of the 8 SEC teams faced that year, and there was only 11 other teams at the time, so more than 50% of the SEC took their bye week before Alabama that year.
Although 5 is also a fair number since we also had one against LSU, so that kind of cancels out.

I’m pretty sure that was the reason the rule was implemented.
You take everyone’s best shot....every game. But 6 of them got 13 days rest.
