He had Tennessee ranked in the top 10 at one point. Ultimately, he failed but he's been the one source of hope for Vol football in the past 10 years.

You could've coached that team to the top 10.

The last time Tennessee was in the top 10, they were coached by an angry lesbian PE teacher.

Even Butch Jones would have beaten Georgia State by a lot.

There was a brief shot at him on the sideline during the Duke game. I forget that lovable little bastard is still employed at Bama

Having Butch Jones as your one bright spot is absolutely not a bright spot. God, it's getting downright cruel what the Vol fans are going through. I don't think we had it this bad when we were suffering through the Goff years

Not really. He brought Tennessee to their peak in today’s college football world.

Derek Dooley actually had a tremendous coaching staff his first couple years at Tennessee. He had Chaney as his OC, Justin Wilcox at DC, Charlie Baggett at WRs coach, Harry Hiestand as their OL coach who is now in the NFL and Lance Thompson. It just shows you the coaching staff doesn’t matter if the man at the top is incompetent.

Ever wonder what would have happened if Dooley hadn't had 13 players on the field at the end against LSU and had won that game?

Yes, Les would have been gone sooner.

Y’all remember when Butch went with Jalen Hurd over Kamara? I remember.
