Saban had like three RB ahead of him as well at one point. What difference does it make? Let’s face it a lot of this has to do with his production for the Saints not what he did in college.

Butch Jones was a cuck.

Imagine losing two in a row to that hedgehog.

Well, Bret Bielema became a real-life "assistant to the regional manager" and Bert is fat. It could be worse.

His freshmen year.

A huge difference. Hell, the guy behind both Kamara and Hurd looked better than Hurd.

It has everything to do with talent evaluation and the use of that talent.

Mistakes are made at every level from sandlot to the NFL.

Kamara at Tennessee was a blunder of epic proportions.

The Texas A&M game in 2016, AK started his first game because of a Hurd injury.

18 carries
127 yards
2 TDs

8 catches
161 yards
1 TD

Hurd is a WR now because Deandre Baker knocked his dick in the dirt back in 2016...and everyone knows Hurd didn't like contact. He said he didn't like being a 'between the tackles' back at Tennessee.

Spoken like someone who didn't watch the 2016 UT vs aTm game.

I'm just waiting for what happens when Baylor asks him to run a crossing route, and he gets blown up. Then he'll only run routes outside the hashes. Hurd thinks he's going to extend his career by trying to avoid big hits, but all he's going to do is make it where no one wants him because they don't trust him to fill the role they need. I don't think he's got the speed to be a deep threat only.

Hey pal, you don’t need to spot offensive talent when all you need to do is ask is, “one sugar or two” for the coffee. Saban hired Butch for one thing only.

One of the best analogies ever conceived from this board.

I watched Hurd several times while he was in high school and 80% of the time he ran between the tackles in a 2 man I set.....He'd hit it up inside and most of the time he'd cut it to the outside and out run most DBs.

Hurd wasn't built for the Botch Bone offense at UT standing still 5-7 yards deep when he got the ball but if you look at his numbers they are pretty damn good and most were after contact because he played behind some pretty shitty offensive lines. Hurd was more suited for a Bama, UGA...USCw style offense. He'd be a good fit for what Pruitt is installing at UT.

That's all well and good. I'm not saying he CAN'T take the punishment. The issue is that he has come out and said that he wanted to switch to more outside running or to WR to avoid taking so many hits. It's not a lack of ability to run inside. He doesn't WANT to do it because he thinks lessening those blows will allow for a longer NFL career. I think it's possible he's going to maneuver his way out of an NFL career though.

If Hurd want's to switch he needs to be a H-Back or TE type. Many folks when he came to UT said he wouldn't play RB in the NFL because of his height.

And for 2 damn years Botch could have limited his touches by using Kamara a lot more....but Botch is too damn stupid.
