The application for an alcohol license was made by Levy Premium Foodservice LP, the concession company servicing Alabama football games. The seven-member council voted in favor of the license, which now must be approved by the state of Alabama’s alcoholic beverage control board.
One member of the council, John Faile, voted against the measure, calling it a “hard decision.” There was one member of the public who spoke to the council against the measure, citing in part concerns about older students buying alcohol for underage students.

Hawkers will sell alcohol to fans in concourse lines but not in the seating bowl, and fans could be given pins that identify them as 21 years old after having their identification checked.

Meanwhile UK's AD doubles down on no alcohol sales. So copious amounts of bourbon will continue to flow in the stands regardless.
