Kelly deserves this award with Heupel and Smart being in the mix finishing at #2 and #3.

What Kelly did with 39 scholarship players in a total rebuilding season has been incredible.

The season total in Las Vegas was LSU 6.5 regular season wins. He blew that out easily with 9.

Congrats to Coach BK. There is a dynasty in the making in Baton Rouge! LETS GEAUX!

3 losses.

What was done at SC and beating two top 10 teams deserves more consideration then BK and Hype

Kirby deserves it.

He lost 5 first round draft picks on defense and we still had the #1 scoring defense the next year.

Losing to A&M was the disqualifier.

He's a largely unclutch guy who's still sucking at the teet of that Bama two point conversion.

He routinely makes bad in game decisions, always has. He could barely beat a rancid gut pile Arkansas squad, without its starting quarterback and finally closed out the regular season, losing to a steamy, Walmart parking lot shite diaper of a football team.

Sure, coach of the year.

Agree with this. Kelly has gotten LSU in a very good position and very quickly. Quicker than Saban did with Alabama.

Heupel with the best X's and O's but overall head coach? I'd have to go with Brian Kelly.

He shouldn't have lost that game.

I wouldn't nor would 92% of the 23k people who voted in that poll.

I disagree. For the future, between Heupel and Kelly, Kelly's obviously the better of the two. Heupel won't duplicate this season unfortunately for the Vols. He'll probably end up somewhere else anyways.

Every single thing you said was subjective & speculative. There's no value in any of it.

You have absolutely zero way to prove this.

Heupel won't duplicate this season unfortunately for the Vols.

Or this

He'll probably end up somewhere else anyways.

Or this

Unless LSU did not recruit any players or accept anyone through the portal, Kelly had more than 39 players.

I think I saw it was closer to 72 players. Still not the max, but far from the 39 LSU fans insist on repeating.

It was 39 scholarship players in the bowl game. That's what he inherited.
