2020 F+ Ratings
F+ Ratings combine Brian Fremeau's FEI ratings with Bill Connelly's SP+ ratings in equal parts. Overall team ratings (F+), offense ratings (OF+), and defense ratings (DF+) represent each team and unit's standard deviation above or below average. FEI ratings (FEI) represent the per-possession scoring advantage a team would be expected to have on a neutral field against an average opponent, based on opponent-adjusted possession efficiency data. SP+ ratings (SP+) are tempo- and opponent-adjusted measures of college football efficiency based on play-by-play and drive data designed to be predictive and forward-facing. Team records (Rec) represent results against FBS opponents only.

It's not perfect at being precise IMHO, but it's pretty good at doing a 1-127 ranking each year that is reasonable for things like this.

...and that would be fine too.

Play LSU on Rivalry weekend and the sips as an interpod rival.

That works for me.

I like it. From a historical POV, AU/UGA has to play each year. That is really the SEC's must. I would be fine to play it as an out of conference game.

This... trying to point to 2 teams and saying it's a good indicator of how they would do head to head is not a good usage, but it's indicative of their relative strength at large.

8 Top 30 teams - 4 East, 4 West

Biggest difference is the West is stronger in the bottom 8, especially if you consider that Arkansas is going to be better in coming years than it was in 2017-2019.

West has #40, 41, 49 and Arkansas

East has #52, 53, 58, 83

I think Oklahoma will perenially be a 9-3/10-2 team, with an occasional championship. I think Texas will be a perennial 7-5/8-4 team, with championships harder to come by.

You can not build these Pods based on todays snapshot or judge them. If you did that 20 years ago, it would have UT and UF as the dominate programs. One thing that is consistent in the SEC and that is change.

And I finally hit an acceptance phase with this whole thing.
