If everyone claimed titles the way Bama does there’d be about 4-5 champions every year before 2000. Nobody denies Saban’s run but old bama titles are objectively suspect.

Then it’s “well xyz local newspaper was one of three organizations recognized blah blah blah” it’s a little tiresome but mostly funny.

They must have coughed something up to keep Tank. General consensus was that boosters didn’t support the Harsin hire so didn’t put up NIL money and I can’t imagine they would until he’s gone - probably saving that $$ for the buyout. This is assuming they’re on board for the next hire. With how important NIL is right now, having booster support seems critical to maintain recruiting.
