It could happen. They weren't that far off from beating LSU this year and did beat Bama.

I expect them to improve.

JFF was very average when he played LSU this year .... all those spins and jukes dont work with a fast defense with good DBs.

Bama has a great D but didnt have the speed on the DL or good play out of their DBs against aTm.

Anything could happen. A&M is flirting with disaster running an offense that has a qb scrambling around until shite opens up. Oregon runs a fast paced offense, but it is still assignment football. A lot of A&Ms big plays against Bama was Johnny Manziel running around until something broke down in the back end. Then when Alabama adjusted and started just bringing pressure Manziel wasn't nearly as effective.

Won't be next year, they lose too many good starters on that O-Line. Next year will likely be a regression for Manziel.

However, the year after that? Yeah I can see them making a solid run.

I could also see them playing an Oklahoma or K-State in the NC and losing.

Where is the "they lose too many on the OL" storyline originating?

Manziel will never beat LSU. I can guarantee you that.

I think it goes like this..

A&M did not win this season. SEC will be tougher next season than this season. Unlikely they win it all next season. Your line (which is excellent) will not be there in 3 years.. and neither will JFF. If you don't win it next season.. I don't think you have much of a shot.

Your stud DE is gone too.

Not "3 years" from now; next year. That's what I'm asking (re: JFF's OL).

Yea me too Roger. I think this years A&M will be the weakest we all see. They'll only get stronger from here on out.

Losing the senior center and most likely the left tackle. The right tackle will likely stay and switch to left tackle, his brother will be the starting center and the current guard will pump out to right tackle. It should still be pretty solid.

Also, Manziel has gotten better through out the year as far as passing goes. With the improvement he had from last spring to this year, it wouldn't be surprising to see him to continue improving with another spring under the system.

I ain't a fan, but I think Sumlin has done a fine job and recruiting will just improve now they are in the SEC. Just calling it like I see it.
