The "market" will begin to correct itself next year but the 2022-23 offseason will be an absolute free for all.

You will see a lot of players that you never imagined entering the portal simply to see what they can get on the open market or even just to push their team to up the ante.

I wouldn't be shocked if Harold Perkins enters to see what offers he can get, if LSU doesn't take care of him first.

It's likely that a lot of our rosters look very different by August, a lot of coaches are expecting perhaps a 40% roster turnover this offseason.

The Tranfer Portal is going to be more important than signing day.

The players are more seasoned and can provide immediate bigger impacts.

Any team can have a high star who is unhappy with a perceived slight leave and for elsewhere.

Agreed, especially with the number of impact players who are about to be available.

I don’t doubt it, but which coaches said this?

Make the players employees of a “CFB league” and sign players to contracts like the NFL. Time to throw the “student athlete” joke out of the window. These players are all employees that are paid for a service which the universities profit off of.

Josh Pate said it’s going to be the Wild West.

No one who was willing to put their name to it.

I think 40% is a little high personally, you may see that in some extreme cases but 25% or so is more likely across the board in my opinion.

I think it’s going to be more important than ever to sign recruits that fit and buy in to your teams culture. Kirby didn’t take a portal kid this past offseason (not because he didn’t want to, we just lost out on the ones we wanted) and that has seemed to pay massive dividends in this years team’s connection.

It's going to be a wild time.

And I'm assuming that a lot of players are going to make moves they regret.

Does the NIL pool have to be divided between the men’s and women’s programs due to Title IX?

Pittits is just getting paid back for what he did last year. He was talking to players on rosters that were still playing about transferring. Lots of coaches want to make him bleed this offseason.

No, I cover CFB, my conversations have been with low level staffers but everyone expects it to be a shitshow.

Hell no, that will become a problem in the future though.

No, because it technically “isn’t associated with the Universities.” Enjoy it while it lasts boys. They’ll find a way to regulate this in the next 10 years. For now it’s going to be exciting and terrifying.
