Boomer Esiason alluded to the idea that college football teams with players who recently tested positive for the coronavirus actually did so on purpose.
The WFAN radio host said that he found it “odd” that so many players from big-time football programs have suddenly come down with COVID-19 as he specifically mentioned Alabama, LSU and Clemson, who have all recently reported coronavirus cases on their teams.
“I gotta be really careful here, because I don’t want to say that this is an accusation,” Esiason said Monday morning. “I don’t want to ... I just was thinking the other day about what is going on with the SEC teams down south. And Clemson included, who’s obviously an ACC team. A lot of their players are coming down with COVID-19, oddly enough. So are they trying to herd immunity their teams?”
Boomer Esiason believes SEC teams and Clemson are giving players Covid-19 now to help their football programs in anticipation for the fall season.
“I think it’s going on. I don’t think it’s that crazy.”
“I’m telling you right now, I wouldn’t put it past any of those guys down there.”
“I think it’s going on,” Esiason added. “It’s too much of a coincidence.”
There is still no concrete evidence that someone can be immune to COVID-19 after contracting it.

Who knew that Covid-19 provides an edge to a football team.
Still, I like the concept. Let's end this nonsense and let this flu strain run it's course.

Just trying to prove that corona, who we all agree is solid, could never withstand the grind of an SEC schedule

He was right about Alabama at least, but just the general student body not the football team

The man should be fired for demonstrating an inherent bias against Southerners.

I mean, it's kind of genius if you think about it.
All of our guys in the SEC will have had it, ready to play without worrying about getting it and when we play OOC teams they very well could have half their team down with it bc they didn't expose their players beforehand.
Not saying I agree with it but I can see where ppl would consider that an advantage if we were doing that.

I highly doubt the coaches are doing anything that could make them liable in this, but I guarantee you the players are getting together on their own to intentionally get the virus now so that they can play in the fall without worries. If your potential 50 million dollar career was on the line depending on whether you got to play football this fall, would you try to get the virus before the season if you were confident you wouldn't have serious complications? Clemson had something like 35 players get it in one week. You can't tell me they didn't orchestrate that.

I guarantee COVID-19 is not the worst thing most of them have caught there.

Boomer is Fake News. The teams are families and colds generally run through families...

I'm down for it. Get it now and you dont get it during the season before a big game. Kind of makes perfect sense
Give everyone it. Quarantine them. Then all is good. They cant spread it to people they love and can be monitored continuously.

If he said Bill and the Patriots player infection rate is far higher than the rest of the league, would he be mocked for suggesting that the most insanely detailed/push the line for an advantage coach discovered an advantage of taking a chance of players getting it now will free them up from missing game time in a few months? (even if wrong), we can all 100% believe that story. So are the blue blood coaches wired much different?

More likely that Ostarine, antler spray or some other unknown/banned performance enhancer makes you more susceptible to Covid 19 than some conspiracy.
