Petrino is not a decent person, just a good coach. There's a big difference. Those r-kansas wounds were completely self-inflicted and compounded by a keystone cop-like coverup. Character matters if you are going to hang in there in the long run. Ask Huge Freeze, he still glows in the dark?

My Petrino regret, that Louisville fired his arse before the Kentucky game in 2018 when we beat his sorry team 56-10. I felt sorry for their acting coach that day. It should have been Bobby getting that beatdown. He made that mess.

What choice did Arkansas have? Can't keep a guy like that on staff.

Yeah I highly doubt that. In hindsight, now that we know what’s happened, I personally wish we would have flipped the bird to the whole world and kept him but what he did was definitely a fireable offense at all schools and I highly doubt anyone else would have kept him in the current world.

Firing Bobby didn't hurt nearly as much as Bert's ridiculous extension after 7–6 in 2014/his lack of being fired after 2016, or the hiring of Chad Morris. Hiring Chad Morris is the single biggest mistake Arkansas football has ever made.
Petrino coached in FBS football for another six years after we fired him, and he never got past nine wins. He wasn't destined to win the SEC-W, although he maybe would have kept us from being a laughingstock for a little longer. It's hard to dwell on it when we've seen everything unfold the past 11 years.
