Let's say Coach Petrino never wrecked his motorcycle in early 2012 and never got caught hiring/having an affair with that woman.

Would he still be at Arky? Or would he have left Fayetteville for the likes of Oregon, USC, Michigan, UCLA just to name some programs that had openings over the past handful of years.

In 2011, he had an extremely talented team and went 10-2 with those losses coming to LSU & Bama with that juggernaut of teams they had that season.

Who knows? Supposedly he really liked Fayetteville, but maybe it was just our volleyball team? Arkansas fans wouldn't have been surprised if he'd left, but there were never any signs that he would.

I think his Arkansas teams were better than many think, but I also think he was struggling with recruiting and that we'd have taken a step back if he'd remained. He doesn't like recruiting and that doesn't work at Arkansas.

He didn’t wreck his bike with that whore on it.

He got the shite beat out of him by her fiancée.

Then that cuck married the girl anyway.

True, AU's good ole boys would have finally gotten their wish.

JMHO, I think BP would've done well at AU with a much stronger recruiting pool.

He had bad things in mind for Les Miles following that 2011 beatdown, so I was glad he left Arkansas.

He would still be here. The buyout to acquire the services of Bobby Petrino was around 18 million at the time, and Arkansas simply isn't a stepping stone job like Mississippi State. You have to go back a long way to find a coach that voluntarily left Arkansas.

Every thread about him has to have this picture.

Just one of the truly hilarious things in sports history.

Yeah... I'm getting this is some sort of sexual thing for you. Which is cool. I mean, fly that freak flag proudly and all that. I admit, the whole, someone fricks my wife, and then I jerk off, then I beat them up... so now I'm a man thing is... weird even by Ole Miss standards. Have you tried maybe just having sex with your woman? They make pills that can help with that.

Petrino would have taken a step back because he was gifted a once in a generation set of WRs who would have gone to Arkansas unless we were were running the triple option and two NFL level (though one of them got so dinged up he didn't make it) QBs dropped into his hands.

The wideouts graduated. We had two very good QBs step up after he left, but Petrino hated the defense. Literally. Well Arkansas posted a super high scoring offense with no defense just recently. We didn't win a ton of games.

In a fairly soft ACC with a Heisman winning QB he's posted some very meh seasons.

Would he have been a better head coach then Bielema? Well Bert is going down in history as the worst coach in Arkansas history to last at least five seasons so that is pretty much a given.

He had a good run while he was here but I think the wheels were about to come off the wagon even if he had stayed.

As someone else pointed out, his $18MM buyout would have kept him here until we were through with him. If he had kept winning then they would have upped the pay and the buyout. If he took a huge step back then they would have just kept him until the buyout was manageable and then fired him. We paid Bert $14MM to go away FFS.
