Would hate to lose him. Despite Georgia fans invalid thoughts, dude is a very good DC. Did wonders this year and was very good at Miss State. Either way. Mullen seems to be making the right hires so far. So if we have to replace him, is what it is.

Defense improved in every area. Georgia fans are new to football don't let their thoughts bother you.

We're new to football? Football didn't arrive in Gainesville until 1990.
Grantham brought fire to Georgia's defense at first, but he wore out his welcome. I suspect it's why he jumps jobs so often. You'll grow tired of him in time.

He did well at State and certainly here. Maybe Richt was a part of screwing with him? Richt didn't exactly make assistants look good.

You could have a point, but I know his defenses faded after his first year at Georgia. And look at the scores of the Georgia games the last three times we faced him at Louisville, State, and Florida. That should tell you why we're ok without him.

If true, good hire for UF. Shoop has produced everywhere he’s been except UT. His stint with the Vols was below average because Botch constantly meddled when he had no clue how to coach either side of the ball.

It was confirmed days ago that Grantham was staying. Shoop never even got contacted. It was a bump the call out the OP for starting a stupid rumor without a source.

Grantham always does good his first year, after that he is "so so" or "less then average". He is good at scheme/calling defense/blitz packages etc. He is not good at recruiting/talent evaluations/developing players.

At UGA Grantham was good his first two years. His third year(2012) our defense was ranked in the thirties. His last year(2013) we were ranked in the forties. When the players he recruited began to play our defense stunk it up. 8 of the 12 teams we played in 2013 scored 30 plus points on our/his defense. After 2013 season Grantham couldn't get out of Athens fast enough IMO. Richt basically told him to look for another job( that was how Richt fired people).

Same thing happened at Louisville. Grantham did great with Charlie Strong's players his first year. Each year after that his defenses got worse and worse.

We will see what happens at Florida. We see if Grantham can break that trend. But he is far from good/great IMO.

It was pure speculation when Grantham was interviewing with the Bengals
