Would you rather discuss his win/loss record as a head coach

Yeah but those Missouri Valley offenses were better than most SEC offenses. It's widely known.

Just saving a spot for WT to call you an idiot in italics.

Couldn't give two shits about what he did at Nebraska and Youngstown State as a HC
If he can eclipse Aranda's defense at LSU, I will be happy. I think he'll do just that

Frankly I could care less about his defenses as a head coach, maybe just me though.
I only care about what he did as a DC and he was elite of the elite here.

He was hired at Nebraska and Youngstown because of his defenses.
I don't see how LSU fans can't be somewhat concerned about this hire.

He was hired to run their programs in full, not coach defense. All he's doing here is coaching defense, which is what he did back in 2005-7 and did it at an elite level.

Or we could talk about it like thunderbird just did above, which is a totally rational take on it

Agree - definitely a different level of involvement

Well, you see, head coach and defensive coordinator are two separate positions.

The local experts on TD are saying he is equivalent to Venables at Clemson and is already the best DC in the SEC

What were his defenses ranked when he was at LSU? That's the most important data.

what about at LSU, where he used to coach defense and will be next year?
