If you agree with this statement: upvote.
If you disagree: downvote, then take a look at yourself in the mirror.

If you cant comprehend that injuries impact the game then I do not know what to tell you. Its a simple fact that when your best players are not on the field the team is not as good when said players are 100%.

It's all on a scale.

Big difference in losing someone like your 2nd string corner vs. having to play without Joe Burrow.

Next Man Up.

It was only one receiver.

Heck, there was once* a season where you could field two football teams with all the players missing.

Improvise, adapt or lose.

Think of it this way, winning or losing a game is a measure of how good your team is ON THAT PARTICULAR DAY. Many variables enter into the equation. If your stud QB is injured and unable to play and you lose, then you were the lesser team period!

Maybe you’ll be the better team when he is back, but that is a measurement for another time.

Everything else is “what if’s”

You are absolutely correct. On the other hand, if you do not realize that all teams are missing players at that point of the season then

And typically all teams are missing key players. it is what it is. It's football. If you don't want injuries to occur I suggest you take up fandom in chess.

Injuries do impact the game. So do bad/missed calls by the refs. So does lack of execution by the players. So does bad play-calling by the coaches. So does bad clock management by the head coach.

There are tons of things that can impact a football game.

What teams can do to help mitigate these issues includes great preparation, conditioning, and depth-building. If you crush your opponent, bad calls by the refs aren't as impactful, and neither are a few mistakes by coaches or players. If you have an injury, you can plug in a backup to take over.

If your entire game or season hinges on the health of a single player or two, then you're not a "championship team"; you probably have a good team that is relying on one or a few players to carry you.

But it makes no sense when you only apply this logic to one of the two teams, right?

No shite every team has injuries but mot all injuries are the same - an injury to a blocking TE is not that same as an injury to the primary #1WR or QB an an injury to the primary pass rush end that a team has to game plan for vs an injury to a rotational DE that plays 12 snaps a game.

True. An injury to an all-world WR on a team with nothing but 2 and 3 star players is a lot more impactful than an injury to an all-world WR on a team with 4 and 5 star backups.

Teams that are consistently at the top of the recruiting rankings should be able to absorb injuries better than teams at the bottom of the list. So yes, I would agree that not all injuries are the same.

So...Stetson Bennet walks out there and tears his achilles in warmups Monday night and Georgia goes on to lose, you think we would not a hear a peep from Georgia fans claiming it just might have had an effect on who won? I appreciate you guys sticking to the fantasy that you UGA "alphas" would never dream of blaming a big loss on an injury but really?
