How can anyone believe anything they say? They make things up as they go along. Probably been chowing down on a 3-piece from Popeye's all along.

Please STFU with the geographical prejudice BS. I reside in Orlando. I own property in AL and New Orleans and have worked all over the country for 15 years and have spent lots of time out of the country. Everywhere I go I find pleasant intellectuals and also trash of every skin color. I've lived and worked amongst the most conservative and the extreme liberal. I've pretty much seen it all. There's valuable lessons to learn from all. I don't know the details of what's going on at Mizzou and maybe there is circumstances there that justify the actions of these people but I've seen enough of this shite around the country to know what it typically is and that's attention hungry, entitled idiots that seem to think the average white guy like myself owes them something. The world owes no one anything. I've worked my arse off to find a little stability in life and earn the respect of my peers. That opportunity is available to anyone who wants it in this country regardless of their skin color. Get off your pedestal man. You're no better than me.

He's standing behind a group of people who are choosing to violate their contract, and he is calling for his boss' head. That is insubordination and I'm sure could be interpreted as a breach of contact in some form, with his dereliction of duty and the harm he is potentially incurring on the Institution.

He should be escorted off campus and never have the opportunity to do so again for Missouri. What the players are doing is wrong. What he is doing is wrong. He is encouraging and teaching them that they don't have to live up to their word in providing their services for their education.
If they want to march, if they want to make their voices heard, fine. There's a forum for it. Breaching their obligation to the University is the wrong way to do it and they should be instructed on this and Pinkel instead, chose to do the wrong thing as well.

Universities have no risk? Are you aware of how few athletic departments operate with a profit? Why is that? Why are the expenses so high? To take care of whiney people like you. In 2012 they published some expenses from UF's trip to the Sugar Bowl. Over $2.4 million to take 100 players to NO for a less than a week. UF lost over half a million dollars on that trip so they could make sure the players were taken care of. They could turn a profit if the athletes were lodged and fed according to what regular people get.
It was about $300 per day for lodging/meals/per diem. Last time I took a trip for Uncle Sam, I got about 1/5 that amount and I lived really well. I bet if we started charging the athletes income for benefits above what would be standard gov per diem they'd stop complaining fast. Get that 1099 at the end of the year and you'll be just fine staying at Motel 6 rather than paying up some taxes at the end of the year.
And, why would you get a pension for being around 4 years? Who secures a pension at 4 years?
Maybe the problem is football players. You know who I don't hear complaining? The UF gymnastics team and softball team. I also don't read about them getting arrested, being accused of rape etc. In the past three years those two teams alone have 5 national titles. Perhaps it's time we stop caring so much about football and pay more attention to those that are achieving excellence without quitting, complaining, or making the police blotter.
