Just heard this on ESPN talk radio by a big college football insider.

I said in the other thread they’d be smart to grab him before LSU does. Who does LSU get any better right now?

Bob Stoops is available

Thus would be a terrible loss for the future potential of the LSU program … but it makes a lot of sense for Napier. Timing is everything…
His availability might be what triggered USCs immediate actions. He is the real deal…

They tried to pull Jimbo but couldn’t. Then he went to A&M.

Is he? They got killed by Texas in week 1 (a team that now looks extremely average) and just beat Nicholls by a whopping 3-points (Memphis beat Nicholls 42-17 the week prior). Louisiana looks very average so far, and really, Napier has only had two seasons of success as a HC - that isn't much of a resume. Is he the real deal, or is he a flash in the pan? Lots of these small-school guys can make waves for ~2-3 seasons - FSU thought they had the "real deal" in Mike Norvell too. Scott Frost at UCF, etc.

Their AD is a Cincy guy so he may look there

Napier has supposedly thrown his name in the hat for
several high profile jobs only to pull it back out later in the process. Sounds like he has a bit of an ego.

This is getting old Jimbo about to be 8-4 this year.

I’m starting to get pretty meh on Napier tbh
Def don’t want Fisher, though I worry that’s Woody’s move
Christobal could be in play
Kiffin would be great but but we’ve always heard Woody didn’t want him
Still love me some Fleck

He might prefer LSU job but can’t wait 2 years until LSU can afford O buyout. Don’t blame him.

Christobal is not leaving Oregon

He definitely would under the right circumstances

He turned LSU down while at FSU. I believe it was the year before he left. Maybe if they asked a year later he would have said yes. But I think it was obvious at the time. Kind of like all the people who turned down your DC position lol

Cristobal will leave but he's waiting for one of the marquee jobs down south to open up.

Napier could use USC for leverage against LSU.

Bro, Napier has worked for Saban twice. That puts his resume under consideration for any Power 5 job.
