Alabama- over #10 Florida 31-29

Arkansas- over #15 Texas AM 20-10

Auburn- over #NR Akron 60-10

Florida- over #NR Tennessee 38-14

Georgia- over #25 Clemson 10-3

Kentucky- over #NR Mizzou 35-28

LSU- over #NR MSU 28-25

MSU- over #23 NC State 24-10

Mizzou- over #NR CMU 34-24

Ole Miss- over #NR Louisville 43-24

SC- over #NR ECU 20-17

Tenn- over #NR Bowling Green 38-6

Texas AM- over #NR Colorado 10-7

Vandy- over #NR CO State 24-21

Arkansas is clearly is surprise of the season. They demolished Texas and Texas AM and have looked very good. They are clearly the number 3 team in the SEC right now behind Bama and UGA. I am really looking forward to their game vs UGA

Ole Miss is definitely passing the eye test. Their defense is improved and have looked good. But they’ve not really played anyone yet. I’m very much looking forward to them playing Bama next week!

Florida is quietly putting together a solid season and has an outside shot at the SECCG

Kentucky is doing well at 4-0 and could make it to a good bowl this year

A&M is a disappointment this season.

LSU has a slight chance of matching last year’s .500 team and maybe going to a bowl game. Maybe.

Your thoughts on the season thus far?

The Fightin' 1980's biggest win is a team that lost to NC State.

OP is using current rankings because it benefits him. For example we beat #7 A&M, but uses #15. He uses #10 Florida, although last week they weren’t that high (12).

Convince.

You can argue both sides early in the season, but the way he is doing it is prob the right way as the season goes on. Early season rankings are stupid, but it gets people talking, so they keep them.

Either way, one of the best things about College Football is that you can make an argument for just about everything.. but it is also frustrating! haha

I’ll throw my hat in. There shouldn’t be any rankings until season is complete.

I get that, but at the time they played they didn’t beat that rank. That’s all I’m saying. Of course as they go on and improve it will be higher.

I think TX could finish higher than Florida as well. One bad thing about the SEC is earning a good rank to get it taken away. We may be 6 or whatever it is, but I just hope to finish the season with a fair and accurate ranking. Especially after playing the teams we have in this 4 week period.

Agreed. A&M finishes unranked unless something major changes.

Current rankings are always better than using older rankings heavily influenced by preseason hype. The rare times it’s less accurate is when a good team establishes themselves in the first half of the season and the wheels fall off for some reason at the end of the season.

Texas A&M just isn’t good right now. I don’t say this to take anything away from Arkansas. Maybe the aTmers can fix their issues and be good later, but they haven’t yet. Colorado almost beat them. The following week Colorado got beat 30-0 by Minnesota.

No. I posted it in the score board last night and used those current rankings. I updated it today with the new rankings because they are current. I mean are we really going to say Clemson is number 3? Don’t be so sensitive

When you do these kind of things correctly, you have to post the team's ranking at the time they played. That's how record books are kept.

I’m going to do this with the current rankings as that is the most accurate assessment as the season progresses.

Said no one in 2017 when we beat #3 Florida State who proceeded to completely shite the bed.

No not always. If a team is highly ranked at the beginning of the season and loses top players due to injury then playing them in the beginning of the season would be much tougher and they may have been worthy of their ranking at the time. Things can change from week to week. It isn’t always preseason hype.

I understand what you’re saying. But I think over all the current rankings are the way to go. It’s real time and more factual.
