Really ashamed LSU and Michigan have never met on gridiron
Damn, thats shocking. You would have figured Miles would have gotten it scheduled.

Played 3 times between 1931 and 1960. Lost all 3.

Penn State. Would be fun with their former OC and QB for a bowl game.

ACC - either Syracuse or - surprisingly - Louisville (former metro in hoops)
B10 - Michigan State, Minnesota, Illinois, Purdue - not sure who's considered 'bigger'
B12 - Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas Tech - not sure who's considered 'bigger' here either - probably Kansas
PAC8/10/12 - "USC vs USC" was in the 80s (split 1-1) so any other Pac10/12 ...UCLA most likely
...UCLA overall

We’ve only played one PAC-12 school - we split a home and home with SoCal in the early 80s.

Auburn is the only NC winning team that ND has never played. Been trying to schedule them for years.

Got an old tee shirt in my closet that reads “Cocks bust the Trojans ‘83”

It is amazing that they never played in a bowl game against each other.

Florida State.
Mizzou has played all the other big boys at some point.

No current SEC team has ever played Stanford in the regular season
A&M has... played Stanford in the opening game of the season in 1992. As mentioned before, we haven't played Oregon. I don't think we have played Michigan St either.

False.
Mizzou hosted Stanford for their first game of the season in 1971. Stanford won 19-0.
Fun fact, they were called the "Stanford Indians" at the time. They changed their mascot to the "Cardinals" in 1972 and then again to "Cardinal" in 1983.

Triple False. A&M, Missouri, and Arkansas have all played Stanford in the regular season.
In fact, Stanford had early season games in back to back years against Mizzou and Arkansas in 1970 and 1971.
Here's an odd one. Arkansas has played more then twice as many games against the PAC 12 then it has against the ACC and against a wider variety of teams.
Perhaps not so odd though. In the SWC days we could get quality OOC opponents in our own backyard with the Big 8 and SEC.

I think among all the teams that rank in the top 20 for all time wins there are only two match-ups that have never occurred:
Michigan - LSU
Auburn - ND
In 1988 Auburn would have played ND in the Sugar Bowl for the MNC, but then Tommy Hodson led the miraculous late 4th quarter drive (only time LSU crossed midfield) to win the "earthquake game" by a score of 7-6.
In 1996 Auburn and ND were to be paired up in the Independence Bowl, but Lou Holtz declined the invitation (and chose to instead sit at home with no extra practices) as he felt that bowl was "beneath ND football standards". He took flak for that and accepted a bid to the same bowl the next year where "ND football standards" were promptly taken behind the woodshed by a depleted Gerry Dinardo led LSU team
