Well at A&M Face Value for a game like LSU is around $100 but for a game like Sam Houston it is $60 and if they aren't selling the cheap seats they put them at half price. Texas does the same thing. It's also not like you can just buy tickets to the LSU/Bama game for face, you either put up a huge donation behind it, have had season tickets forever, or you pay a huge premium after market. It's much less of an issue for FCS games, simple supply and demand.

Beyond the "face" though is those are the games they give to organizations with kids to attend. They aren't giving the Boy Scouts tickets to the Bama game, they give them tickets to the FCS games or other cakewalks. A&M does a LOT of this with high school kids from poor parts of Texas that likely would never go to a college football game and maybe never have stepped foot on a college campus. Those kids still love it as it is still a big experience to them. Also, season ticket holders tend to give those tickets away to friends, family, or others more readily for obvious reasons. That's one way to build your fanbase outside of TV and alumni, you get others to come see your product. It also gets those people ON CAMPUS which is huge.

Is that reason enough? No, but it matters.

OK maybe you have a point. But are these not the expensive seats? Are there not cheaper seats and is the discrepancy less for those?

are LSU tickets really $50 or something? I don't know the face for all the tickets as I don't really care but I remember all the SEC visiting fans being really pissy about how much we charge for shitty seats.

We have sold out all other seats via season ticket sales the last few years so visiting seats and temporary bleachers are the only ones available for individual purchase. I believe for conference games the shitty visitor seats face value at $90 or $100.

The playoff format needs to be bigger.. usc/unc and uga/clem are awesome rivalry games that I wish could happen every year but won't because it makes the schedule way to tough. No way usc plays unc/clem and a 8/9 sec game schedule with a 4 team playoff every year

So LSU isn't going to schedule Towson again in the near future?

Shying away like they did with Troy?
