We likely won't be seeing "official" announcements that OU and Texas have joined until 4 additional Big 12 schools have found Power 5 homes. If 6 of the 10 teams decide to leave at the same time, they can sue the Big 12 while still members claiming that the grant of rights and buyout is invalid and then subsequently vote on behalf of the Big 12 to settle the lawsuit for $1.

OU and Texas will make damn sure the Big 12 won't survive before they make the SEC move. That's how they avoid 4 years of grant of rights plus an additional $70 million buyout.

Also, I'm not sure where people are getting this story that only 4 teams can dissolve the Big 12. Dissolution requires 75% (8 votes). See Bylaw 1.5.2(b). Majority vote settles litigation. Bylaw 1.5.2(a)(6).

It’s 4 teams. 4 teams find homes the league dissolves.

Nope. A majority of the conference can vote to settle litigation (6 votes). Bylaw 1.5.2(a)(6). Dissolution requires 75% (8 votes). See 1.5.2(b).

Well 2 are set, sounds like one more is close according to the major TCU insider (not TCU obviously) so we are looking at 1 more to find a landing spot…

May be WVU to ACC, Kansas or ISU somewhere, but this meeting tonight is more to see who else is looking and are they done as a conference unofficially or do they think about back filling.
