There were 4 games between A&M and LSU or Texas, 4 games between Texas and A&M or LSU, and 4 games between LSU and A&M or Texas.
A&M was 2-2, LSU was 2-2, and Texas was 3-1.
Clearly, then, Texas would have been 3rd in the West if they played in the West. Like I said...it's science.
