BATON ROUGE – Ole Miss baseball coach Mike Bianco is in talks with LSU and has emerged as the top candidate to become the Tigers' new coach, sources close to the LSU baseball program told the Lafayette Daily Advertiser on Monday night.

There was something similar from The Advocate in BR...
Hopefully this is just like Casey emerging as the lead candidate last week.

They have named every coach the leader. I heard Bobby Cox is coming out of retirement. Even Andy Boone is thinking about dumping the Yankees.

D1Baseball.com is also reporting that LSU is in talks with Bianco as well.

Imagine a world where one SEC team hires another SEC team's coach and the team losing the coach celebrates and the fans gaining the coach revolt.

LSU has given Bianco a verbal offer. It’s possible this may be done today. If Bianco is not the LSU coach next year, it’s because he doesn’t want to be.

Casey was there before the regional. We just found out about it right before the super. So it's being reported much later than when it actually happened. Lsu was waiting on their next candidate because they were still playing (meaning not McDonnell). Bianco & Godwin fit that bill. Both with connections to Lsu. Both being rumored.

We probably will end up with a sunbelt guy. It won’t be McDonnell and I don’t think Godwin is by any stretch a given, considering his deep connection to ECU and the fact that they are pretty damn good in their own right.
