ETA - seriously, HWY 301 going through little towns of Waldo, Starke, and Lawtey is a legit speed trap. Got national attention in the past. These are really small towns and those tickets are major revenue sources for them.

Yea a speeding ticket can single-handedly ruin your day

I used to drive along that highway regularly. It is bad enough that people actually pay for billboards along the highway calling out the towns for being speed traps and warning other drivers about them.

Waldo is the most famous. They used to have 3 different speed limits within like 3 blocks.
That's changed and I haven't noticed a cop there in over a year along that 3 block area where they used to pop people.
AAA even warned people in their travel guide about the place it was so bad years ago.

Waldo had to disband their PD 3-4 years ago. The city commission was disbanded too. Documents turned up that they ticketed folks to generate revenue after denying it for decades.

Waldo's traps are terrible but Georgia's superspeeder laws are the worst
