Better resume at this point, Tennessee or Ole Miss?

UT fans kept saying that Ole Miss had not played anyone (pre OM Kentucky). Tennessee hasn't played any stronger of a schedule than Ole Miss.

There haven't been any direct opponents so the best we can do is 3rd degree.

Tennessee went to overtime against Pitt. Pitt lost to GA Tech. Ole Miss blew out GA Tech 42-0.

Tennessee beat Florida by 5. Kentucky beat Florida by 10. Ole Miss beat Kentucky.

The rest of the games on both schedules are garbage.

I don't see how anyone can look at the resume of both teams and think that UT is the better team. At this point, Ole Miss has the better resume and we have one more win than UT.

Case closed.

People will think Tennessee is stronger because they'll finish with a better record in the easier East than Ole Miss will finish in the West - just IMO.

I think tier 2 in the SEC includes a bunch of evenly matched teams who could beat or lose to each other on any given Saturday, and none of them are probably good enough to overcome critical mistakes against others in the tier. I'd put Ole Miss, KY, Arkansas, State, LSU, and Tennessee all in that tier.

Nobody with a brain believed that Arkansas or Kentucky were top ten teams and likewise, nobody with a brain who's seen them play believe Ole Miss is a top ten team either.

Let me tell you who has the bestest QB of them all. That's Kentucky, and Mr. Will Levis. Man, that kid can sling it. Did you know he's going pro next year ?

Will Levis knows.

Nobody with a brain thought UT was a championship caliber team in 1998 but weird voodoo happened many times that year and they ended up champions. When teams find a way to win, it can be something special. Look at the Ole Miss Baseball team for a more recent example.

Transitive property doesn’t apply in football.

But go ahead Ole Miss, you can claim a better resume if it makes you feel better about Kiffin leaving at the end of the year.

Please explain to me how your resume is better than ours. I would like some examples.

The fact is, you can't. Our resume is better.

But Ole Miss hasn't found a way to win this year. It's really more about them benefitting from Kentucky and Tulsa finding ways to lose. Ole Miss is benefitting from a terrible schedule this year.

It's funny you bring up UT in 1998....the only reason they won a national championship is because State (and the refs) gifted them a win in the SEC championship. They had a lot of luck that year, but they also didn't have to content with anyone at the level of Bama/Georgia this year.

Tennessee is better at QB, WR & TE on offense. That's pretty obvious by taking a 20 second glance at the stats and watching their games.

Tennessee has two Top 25 wins against teams at the time they played. 1 of those on the road.

Ole Miss has played a soft schedule and was lucky Kentucky got flagged on the touchdown play prior to the strip sack or that's a loss and the OP isn't making this thread.

The answer is Tennessee even if it's not by much.

Well I can buy your second tier musings. The problem with your top ten shot is that you offer no logical alternatives to Ole Miss or Kentucky as top ten teams. Ole Miss has now won 16 of its last 19 games. Same as Ohio State, I believe. Better than everyone else but Bama and Georgia.

Out of the 3, OM looks the best.

Aggie made State look like a top ten team

Look, I don't think UT fans have much to gloat about, but they've got a huge rivalry win and a win over a top 25 team on the resume. Your biggest win is against a horribly overrated KY team, and even then, it's really more about them gifting you the game than anything your team did on the field.

Tennessee has played more teams with a pulse. I’d have to go with Tennessee by a hair.

Tennessee was going to lose against Arkansas until Clint Stoerner left the Easter egg laying on the field.

shite happens. A win is a win.

And if you think Tulsa's mistakes is what caused Ole Miss to win, you're talking out of your arse. We sleep walked through the second half and was never in any real danger.

Ole Miss left plenty of points on the field yesterday. I don't know why people like you only focus on what Kentucky did.

That's football Kemo Sabe.

Ole Miss by a lot, at least so far

Pitt was Tennessee’s “signature win” & after yesterday, that looks a lot less impressive
