Something like, "I've got a job to do here and I'm not gonna address rumors." And every time he was asked after say "I've already addressed this."

Yeah, that's soooo much better

You know it's not far-fetched right? I'm still wondering what it is you are arguing when you yourself said your acquaintance told you Saban wasn't leaving as of 12/31/06?

I'm just wondering how the frick people still even care about this. Though, in fairness I will say that just because I can't relate doesn't make it any less valid, I guess.

You give up Nick Saban for Lent?

I wish I could quit him.

I don't know, honestly.

Again, I was answering a question of why he is not revered in SoFla because I know the temperament down there. Not because of how I feel.

I can see this for the first eighteen or twenty months after he left Miami, but six fricking years later? Even the most diehard Auburn fan has to throw a casty on that

I'm not really disagreeing. The Fins are on the upswing though and I think that will diminish it going forward.

BTW, I looked up how many AU has signed from Dade or Broward county since Saban arrived at Bama just to illustrate how Saban has been shut out of Dade and Broward since he took the bama position.

Clearly bama has outrecruited AU by a wide margin. However, in Dade/Broward, AU has signed 10 players and 5 of them have been 4 stars on Rivals. This includes some key contributors such as Bynes, Bynum, Lemonier, McCaleb and Therieze.

Compared to 1 for Saban.

Which is cool. Haters gon' hate and all that horseshite. I just personally have no frame of reference for holding a grudge that long. Even Franchione. I stopped caring about him after less than a year. Whenever I'd hear him mentioned, I just shrugged. It didn't concern me anymore.

See my post to Party. I just simply can't relate to holding a grudge for that long.

It would've been a typcial coachspeak non-answer that few would've criticized him for afterwards, as opposed to what he said which many believe was a blatant lie.

Hasn't AU always had a better footprint in Miami than UA? Hell, outside of DT, I'm struggling to come up with names for UA...

The duo Dolphins fans should hold the grudge against is Rick Spielman and Dave Wannstedt.

Those are the two who COMPLETELY eroded the talent Jimmy Johnson built up on that team. That was the worst stretch of drafting by an pro franchise my eyes have ever witnessed.

But they were decent people, so no one remembers.

Ed Stinson, Amari Cooper, Eddie Jackson = 3
Plus, Star Jackson who was from the area but not in Dade or Broward County.

Would it be more if not for CNS animosity? Possibly, but you're acting like he should be cleaning up in the area. CNS has stated many times that recruiting efforts are focused on an 8 hour driving radius from Tuscaloosa. Southern Florida is outside that radius, therefore we will occasionally try to cherry pick a recruit from the area but it's not a region that's ever been a pipeline for Bama.

Bama could do better if not for the Saban hate. A LOT better. Dade and Broward County lead the nation in D1 recruits and have more NFL players than any other two counties in the entire country.

And most of them are not signing with Miami and are going all over the country.

Bama would get a lot more if not for the animosity towards saban of the HS coaches and populace here. And yes, it is significant still. It will stay strong as well until the Fins are good again.

Thanks for proving my point. 2 guys out of 175 from Ft Lauderdale south to Miami. AU has 10 over that time period and 5 four stars.

Why in hell gumps want to beat their head against the wall on something so obvious is beyond me.

Saban has not had much success at all recruiting S. FL.

He hired Cristobal hoping to change this in large part.

WTF is so difficult for gumps to understand????

You keep shifting the criteria. You've decided to exclude Broward County north of FtL now?

In that case, I'm going to shift the timeline a little. Between Alabama and Auburn, guess which program has signed the most out of Dade and Broward over the last 5 years?
