Yeah, he has. I am not bashing saban right now. I am just telling you the situation in Dade county in regards to saban. Something I have nothing to do with.

Hell, I was at the casino playing BJ 3 days ago. The guy sitting beside me at the table asked where I was from. I said Alabama and dude went off on a rant about how bad he hates saban. I told him I was an Aubie and don't like him either, but he still wouldn't shut up about how no one can hate saban as much as him.

Was he nice enough to tap your head when he was close to being done?

I just don't get the hate for Saban down there. The guy was only there for two years and, according to everyone, wasn't that great a coach. Why not say "good riddance" and move on?

No. Tampa is on the west coast and Orlando is Central FL.

Probably a combo of the Fins still sucking and Saban being on top of the college football world.

I'm not getting into this fray. But I am a Dolphins fan and this is an easy question. So I'll answer it since you asked.

1. "I guess I have to say it again. I'm not gonna be the Alabama coach. Aight?"

2. Drew Brees

Saban was a team doctor too?

What did you want him to say? "Yeah, I'm not going to be your coach next year" while the season was still going on?

But he was 15-17 at Miami. Why hate on a guy who everyone believes was an abject failure in the NFL? The way they talk about his two years in the NFL now you'd think Miami fans would have been rejoicing in the streets the day he got on a plane for Tuscaloosa.

Not entirely his fault. The medical guys told him Brees was not worth the money because he'd probably never play again. Saban is an analytical guy and chose not to take the risk. It turns out he made the wrong decision. It happens. Hindsight is 20/20.

Maybe.

Sorta hope so though. Can't say I am a true Fins fan, but I would like to see them win.

Look, I told you I'm not getting into this. But it was asked why he's hated down there, and no matter how it all went down, that's the public perception.

Saban wanted Brees, but he stalled with him and that's when Brees visited New Orleans. Payton showed him Katrina damage and painted a picture of Brees helping resurrect a city. It was a done deal right then and there.

How else do you explain Saban pulling 1 player 7 recruiting classes from the 2 most talent rich counties in the US?

How about the 13 hour separation between the 2 places?

And just because Miami is so talent laden, doesn't mean Bama is seriously interested in everyone from the area.

They are interested and are in the top 2 for the best WR in the state and nation, and guess where he's from? Miami.

Oh but how is that possible, Saban couldn't access Miami until today when he hired Cristobal?

Fail. That was during the post-season presser after the final game vs. Indianapolis in 2006.

Fail.

During the month of December 2006, Saban was repeatedly questioned by the media about the Alabama job, and he repeatedly denied the rumors in his weekly press conferences, stating on December 21 "I guess I have to say it. I'm not going to be the Alabama coach."

The Dolphins-Colts game was on New Years Eve. He denied it before the Week 16 game against the Jets.

I listen to the local radio guys. Some are well connected (like Joe Rose). They know a hell of a lot more than you and I am passing along their STATEMENTS of fact of what is happening, so you should probably just shut up and quit arguing.

He denied it multiple times.

But he reiterated it over and over after the last game. Don't argue with me on this.

Why? Because you will be revealed as mistaken?

The statement: "I guess I have to say it. I'm not going to be the Alabama coach." was made on December 21, 2006 - four days before the Week 16 game against the New York Jets on Christmas Day. That was the statement people give him the most amount of grief for.

His final game as the Dolphins head coach was on December 31, 2006 - the last day of the year. The very next day, January 1, he met with Mal Moore and other Alabama officials. On January 2 it was reported that he had an interest in the Alabama job and would make his decision within 24 hours. On January 3....he took the job.

Where did he have time to reiterate over and over after the last game that he would not take the Alabama job?
