The more I look at the returning production for UT the more I think it might not be as close as it could have been last year. Dang that would have been a great game last year. I’m hoping it’s a great one this year but idk if Texas can overcome that production loss.
CU/A&M will either be a blowout or a close game but a no-doubter. As far as atmosphere and actually being at the game go I think LSU/UT will be one of the best in CFB next year so I think overall LSU/UT is the better game but it would have been much better last year.

Probably Texas/LSU, the better team is LSU so Texas having home field evens it up a bit. Clemson is by far the best of the 4 teams AND has home field, unless they have an early season brain fart they’ll be very tough to beat.
The atmosphere at Clemson will be 100x what it is at DKR though. 30% of the crowd will be LSU fans and of the Texas contingent half will be affluent Austinites there for the social gathering. The place has always had a very NFL-like atmosphere to it.

The problem is I just don’t know that this year texas has the players to compete. They are like ridiculously low on returning production. Believe me I hope I’m wrong but it seems like we caught them at the in between down year which sucks

Clemson/A&M will get more views. Bigger name coaches and people will be intrigued after last years game

Meh. My friends who have gone to Texas football games make them sound better than that, and I don’t think a strong contingent of LSU fans make the game less appealing atmosphere wise. I can’t speak to the clemson atmosphere because I have never been. I just kind of assumed that it wouldn’t be as big of a game because the teams are more separated and since clemson will sweep the acc anyway the game matters a lot less to them than LSU/UT matters to the winner/loser of that

LSU - Texas is a much bigger game. Top 10 battle. Ags will get rolled. Horns get rolled too.

Is this some sort of aggy math? At best, the aggy game will be the primetime ESPN matchup, over which an over-the-air broadcast has an inherent advantage.

Two current Top 5 coaches meeting in Death Valley after last years crazy game is a much much better storyline than two top 30 coaches playing in austin

LSU/TEXAS has the prime tine kickoff at 6:30, with GameDay in Austin...so....

First off debatable whether Jimbo is currently a top 5 coach.
Secondly, you can storyline all you want, but LSU and Texas are arguably the two biggest nationwide brands in college sports. You could throw in Ohio State, Oklahoma, Michigan, Alabama. But you get my point. There is simply a much bigger market for LSU/UT than Clemson/A&M
ETA: USC too in terms of brand recognition

The only things the country outside of Texas knows Aggy for are queer ideals and building incompetence.
Have you put some metal on those teefers yet?

Laugh all you want. The global brands of college sports are
Texas
USC
Ohio State
LSU
Alabama
Florida
Michigan
Oklahoma
I may be missing a few but that’s the gist of it.
