considering the vast difference in their athletic budgets, SC is miles ahead of A&M

Top 10

Texas A&M - 8
LSU - 6
Tennessee - 2

Imagine bragging about being third in Directors Cup finishes.

And not even a particularly close third.

More weeks in the AP poll
More first round draft picks
More weeks ranked AP #1

Yep I give the Ags the advantage in football overall; however, South Carolina's best run in the modern era 2010-13 in a very tough SEC >>> A&M's cheating-fueled dominance of a pathetic SWC from 1991-94.

keep in mind, the SWC was often at what we'd now consider G5 quality

Revisionist effin History

The old SWC wasn't at the level of a current day G5 Conference, in fact the old SWC often competed for Jan1 Bowls and MNCs under the old system, the Cotton Bowl often figured into the decision as to who would be the MNC

Daryl Royal & Frank Broyles had the old SWC competing on a Natl Level on a yearly basis

How long have you been watching CFB?

I'm not old, but it's easy to look up: Aggy's best stretch in modern history was from 1991-94 when the only other SWC team that finished ranked was UT at #24 (?) in 1994

USC has been to Atlanta For the secg.

Aggy...............has not.

Aggy is just not a good football program. Great in women’s b-ball.

Now LSU? THAT’S a program.

It’s a little more complicated than you would expect. For many years I have always said the political set up of Carolina has hurt them as far as football goes. BOT at the two schools are totally opposite. Easiest way to look at it is Tommy Bowden was 72-45 at Clemson and got fired. BOT of Carolina would probably give a raise.

And I say that not to slam Carolina fans it’s just my observation. Please don’t take this as a slam. Have a lot of respect for what the university does for our state

Cool.

But football is the bell cow. Aggy doesn’t have a bell cow.

Sausage.

Serious question. Is aggy football program even close to LSU’s? *****this question may have to be brought out as a new thread.
Texag/lobo. You can chime in too.

LSU program can take an secRant-labeled ‘shrimp boat captain’ a ‘horrible defense’ , a ‘dinosaur OC’ and a ‘saints reject’ and go win a national title with the best team ever.
It’s also won three national titles in 20 years.

That’s a program.

You hire Jimbo at 75M and get your championship 2 point overtime win and 50-7. Paint the picture; print the cups.

Interesting what Real Programs can do for relative unknowns while yours cannot buy one......can’t even win a division since I don’t know when.

It really might be a program thing.

It's not exactly a high bar, but the OP did it. I almost feel bad about it.

South Carolina fans seem to be realists at least, Aggy desperately want to be seen as a some kind of traditional power, to the point of adding fake national and even conference championships to their football stadium wall

A&M does have a small edge in FB, but SCar can base their future hopes on recent top four finishes in bball and FB since WW2 and two baseball titles. TAMU has none of this, they are Futility U, "the Black Hole of the Brazos" if you will. Poor Aggies indeed
