2013 SEC QBs - National Passer Rating
#3 - Johnny Manziel, Texas A&M (172.89)
#4 - Zach Mettenberger, LSU (171.45)
#8 - AJ McCarron, Alabama (167.16)
#10 - Connor Shaw, South Carolina (162.94)
#12 - Aaron Murray, Georgia (158.82)

5 QBs in the Top 12

2013 SEC QBs - ESPN QBR (incorporates running/level of competition)
3. Aaron Murray, Georgia (88.1)
5. Zach Mettenberger, LSU (86.8)
6. Johnny Manziel, Texas A&M (86.7)
7. Dak Prescott, Miss St (86.5)
8. Connor Shaw, South Carolina (84.5)
12. Nick Marshall, Auburn (83.4)
14. AJ McCarron, Alabama (82.5)

So far in 2019

Passer Rating
#2 - Joe Burrow, LSU (223.94)
#3 - Tua Tagovailoa, Alabama (213.39)
#8 - Jake Fromm, Georgia (194.62)

2013 SEC QBs - ESPN QBR (incorporates running/level of competition)
2. Tua Tagovailoa, Alabama (95.5)
4. Joe Burrow, LSU (92.0)
7. Sawyer Smith, Kentucky (87.8)
9. Jake Fromm, Georgia (87.0)
34. Kellen Mond, Texas A&M (72.5)
36. Ryan Hillinski, South Carolina (71.5)
42. Kelly Bryant, Missouri (69.9)

Probably need Mond/Bryant to be better to get it closer, but those 3 have been nearly perfect so far. Will be interesting to see how things play out.

Only three weeks in and against cupcakes for the most part

Obviously, but Fromm and Tua are pretty known quantities at this point. Burrow has absolutely looked the part of a top level QB.

I feel pretty confident saying those 3 will stay in that Top 10-15 range all season.

KB is actually having a solid year, but I think those three are too far ahead to lump Bryant with them

2013 Nick Marshall was a god. It’s impossible to rank him with mere metrics. He did not make mistakes with the read option.

He literally created one on one routes (or one on none) for his receivers on every single play because of his read options skills and the o-lines ability to control the front.

Top 3 is possibly as good but 2013 was much deeper. Manziel, Marshall, Mettenberger, Murray, Shaw, Mccarron, Dak, Franklin-Mauk, and even guys like Brandon Allen and Bo Wallace was just a great group

Hilinski has only played in 2 games. One a cupcake (Charleston Southern) and one absolutely not (Bama). I'd say he's pretty decent.

Wasn’t 2012 the year of the quarterback?

Both were good and had a lot of the same players, 2013 was more recent though.
