Number 1 team with remaining 31 behind a pay wall

"Also behind the paywall, Bill Connelly ranks all 32 teams that have made the playoff so far. and hoo boy, will LSU fans be mad.

1. 2020 Alabama (13-0)

CFP result: Beat Notre Dame 31-14; beat Ohio State 52-24

The Crimson Tide had the No. 1, 3 and 5 finishers in the Heisman voting. They played one game decided by fewer than 14 points. They bested an SEC-only schedule by an average of 30.2 points per game. Their defense struggled early but allowed only 15 points per game after mid-October. This was the best Nick Saban team ever and quite possibly the best of the 21st century.

Best team ... from the best coach ... with the best dynasty of the 21st century (at the very least)? Sounds like the best team of the CFP era.

It really isn’t all that close. LSU’s dirty little secret from 2019 is that they may well owe their title to the nonsense that happened on the pasture. That team wanted no part of a Mac Jones and Najee Harris led squad with all four of The Rydeouts."

asterisk Covid season.

this is always so funny to me from lsu fans.

Sure it was different than a "normal" season. But teams still played the same season with the same circumstances. Bama didn't have to play in front of large crowds but neither did any other team in america. Bama did'nt have any games canceled liek some teams and they didn't only play a handful of games like OSu did. Trying to discredit it is like saying no national titles prior to the 1970s should count since guys were a lot smaller back then and wouldn't be any good compared to modern day teams.

did they? Miss State played with like 40-45 players most of the season. Everyone didn't deal with COVID issues at the same level. The contact tracing rules bullshite made things completely unpredictable on a week-to-week basis. Last year was anything but normal. I'm not going to say the results should have asterisks, but I also think it's intellectually dishonest to say everyone was dealt the same hand.

Lol we kicked the shite out of that team but with Tua, Jeudy, Waddle and Ruggs

No man, fans and away environments have no effect on games.

Also it's completely normal to beat a 7 win team for the national title and their entire defensive line gets suspended before the game for a cold

Nothing to see here, completely normal year

I think he is saying thye payed under the same circumstances as every other team not named Ohio State.

Hey, 2019 LSU and 2020 Alabama were both great, exceptional teams.

If you take a poll of the 100 most informed sports people they could go 50-50. Y'all need to respect your accomplishments and stop thinking everybody has to agree with you on every point.

I can't understand the need to belittle everybody else's accomplishments. It doesn't make your own better or worse. Just different.

They were both great teams.

Laughing at 13-0? If you had put UAB and Troy on their schedule od you think they would not have gone 15-0? They could put an * on LSU's season because Alabama played a 10 game SEC schedule and LSU got to play:

Utah State
Northwestern State
Georgia Southern
Pretty sure 2020 Alabama would have ebaten all three of those.
