I would hope it's not tough to put 1,000 students in seats for a basketball game.

Gloating about a student section at a midweek basketball game?

Meh. Most in that section couldn’t tell you who Auburn’s last bball coach was

I went to school during the Barbee days and even I can barely remember who he is

The Pavillion is awesome... just not for college BB. Layout is wrong.
Have a throwback game at the Tad Pad. The overgrown high school setting that it is and the student section would look like the best in mens shooty hoops. Smaller venue, a few small leaks in the ceiling, bad lighting, 80s era scoreboard, seats right up to the court floor with the student section color coded and upfront and personal on the west end of the Coliseum.
A bit of nostalgia goes a long way. The Phog is the best in BB because it grew but kept a classic style.

When the Tad Pad was rocking back in the 90’s and early 2000’s, it was one of the toughest places to play in the league. Same goes for the Hump at State. Thanks for bringing back good memories.

I'm a big fan of some of the downsizing efforts across major sports. Smaller, more intense venues with more focus on fan experience is better all around. Real money in the SEC is TV money and conference money sharing. Might as well have a bad arse little arena that is deafening with an awesome retro feel.
