No defensive players because it doesn’t happen so no Jadeveon Clowney, Tyrann Mathieu or Jon Allen.

Off the top of my head

1. Peyton Manning
2. Darren McFadden
3. Tua
4. Leonard Fournette
5. Rex Grossman

Not old enough to know about Archie, Namath, Hodson etc

Fournette didn't win because he was unfortunate enough to play the same year as Henry. Just like McFadden played the same year as Tebow.

Well if we are comparing stats

The topic is best players, not best seasons.

Leonard Fournette (Career)
YPC: 6.2
TD per game: 1.25

Todd Gurley (Career)
YPC: 6.4
TD per game: 1.2

Heisman is for a season, I thought?

The topic is “best players to never win a Heisman”

That means you take every single player who has never won a Heisman, and you pick the best ones.

Not the best individual season.

His stats didn’t warrant a Heisman above his competition and certainly his attitude at that point in time either

Manning is by far and away the one.

There's not a close second. Woodson beat him because he was a dual threat offense and defense.

What a joke

So the best comeback you have is Gurley, who isn't even being discussed by anyone, had a career average of 0.2 ypc and 0.05 TD/G more than LF7, and that is somehow earth shattering? If Gurley hadn't been injured so much, he might have won a Heisman, and no one would argue against that, certainly not me.

Stop shitting on LF7. Dude would have won a Heisman a lot of other years.

I genuinely believe that if Lattimore hadn't gotten hurt, he'd have won a Heisman.

Once again, this is best player, not seasons.

Both Chubb and Gurley have objectively better stats than Fournette.

Not to mention Chubb was averaging 7.4 YPC before his injury, and still finished with better stats.

If we are talking seasons, LF7 100% belongs here.

Other than that, nah.

ETA: I’m not saying Gurley or Chubb should be on this list, just pointing out that they are both objectively better than Fournette.

Fournette shite the bed in the game that should have cemented him as the Heisman frontrunner allowing him to coast to the trophy.

Everyone tuned in to see what Fournette would do, and saw Henry rush for 3 TDs instead.
