Best assistant staff IMO: Tennessee, then Aggies and Bama. Or Bama and Aggies. Best football coach in the south: Bill Clark @ UAB. Watch Collins @ Tech.

“Things you never heard when Kirby hired Chaney” for $1000

Chaney did a good job for us, most of the time. His red zone play calling is terrible.

Chaney was not too bad but calling him the best in the conference is quite a stretch.

Aranda is good too. Take that as a pat on the head and run along and play.

That label may have more to do with the lack of proven superstar OC’s than it does to do with anything superlative about Chaney. Most of the better offensive minds in the conference also have HC by their name...not OC. In my very humble opinion, of course.
It may just have been picking the best of a mediocre to largely unknown lot.

It’s funny how good players will enhance a coordinator’s reputation

If his game plan works- he’s fine. If D adjusts or his game plan doesn’t work- he’s fricked. That isn’t a great OC imo

Chaney has made good adjustments for the Dawgs in the past.
It is difficult for a defense to take everything away. And that is why a diverse roster like UGA has had so much success offensively the past several seasons.
When the OL is overwhelmed, that is when UGA has struggled. It is tough to do anything when we aren't dominating in the trenches.

When did Chaney make adjustments? I’ve see games like LSU last year, Au prior year, where our game plan had no chance but we never gave up on it! I’ve seen big leads blown vs Bama twice. What I haven’t seen is Jim win a game for us. Most folks would look good with a talent advantage at every position.
And the Oline getting overwhelmed? There’s about 5 NFL players on that line.

I disagree with all 3 of these takes.

So saban is the best coach in the history of the game of college football yet he's not even the best coach that is currently working in the state of Alabama. Got it.

I would put Aranda #1 at DC. Honestly Steele has sucked everywhere IMO except Auburn.

Dear 8pound 6 ounce baby Jesus! You start a thread about offensive Cord. You should throw yourself off the bridge and delete this post

Auburn in '17 is a perfect example. He continually tried to run up the middle even down by 21 points and averaging little over 2 ypc. The next time we played in SECCG he had a completely different game plan.
He was very good when he got a do-over but too bad he couldn't make those a adjustments during the game the 1st time we played.
He also had no a answer to Texas continually shooting the gaps vs us.
