Speaking of morning, do you guys still start the red river game at 11:00 am? It's like y'all just want to get it over with.

I never heard of Texas v. OK being a thing until TX joined the Big 8.

Always had the impression that Army v. Navy was the only game college fans nationwide would have some interest in regardless of the teams being relevant or not.

Just unmitigated hatred and pettiness us the Egg Bowl. Damn they hate each other. Even have players pissing in the endZone.

more people watched the Aggies vs Rice than TX vs OU

If this doesn’t convince you we’re the biggest program in the state, nothing ever will.

What people don't realize about the egg bowl is how much the hatred bleeds over into every day life. Probably the most toxic rivalry in recent years. Has chilled out with kiffin/leach

Because you don't understand good football and southern culture.

1. Iron Bowl
2. DSOR
3. Cocktail Party
4. Egg Bowl
5. Alabama-Tennessee
6. LSU-Ole Miss (when both teams are good, it's intense)

I'll say when Mizzou first joined SEC the big game seemed to be the Iron Bowl. But then Auburn has fallen off. And really with how dominant Alabama has been and how not dominant everyone else is year over year it seems there are no games I look at thinking this will be the one to make it. The depth in the SEC just means there are a lot of important games in the SEC each year... makes it hard to look at thinking any rivalry game is really that important.

Egg Bowl is a top 5 rivalry game, you can't convince me otherwise. Yes I know there are more meaningful rivalries but the entertainment and intensity value is off the charts.

I know several ole Miss fans who consider LSU their biggest rival for sure. They downright hate LSU

I really think OM and Ark has a chance to develop into a true rivalry. Between HDNutt, 4 and 25 and the whole Lane Kiffin debacles there was some animosity starting to brew.

Same with LSU and Arky. But, really, AR sacrificed their Texas rivalry for the SEC.

Amazing how DSOR (125 games) ISN'T on the list!

Best Rivalries in the SEC
Here is what I got for rivalry weekend:

Texas A&M vs tu (Lone Star Showdown)
Alabama vs Auburn (Iron Bowl)
Ole Miss vs Miss State (Egg Bowl)
OU vs Arkansas*
Florida vs FSU (occasionally called the Sunshine Showdown)
South Carolina vs Clemson (Palmetto Bowl)
Georgia vs Georgia Tech (Clean Old Fashioned Hate)
LSU vs _____

*note that I’m not sure OU keeps playing Okie lite

Is this slate going to happen? Who does LSU get?

Recency bias. It was always back and forth growing up but that 06 game changed everything.

and you think anyone outside of Texas and Oklahoma cares about the Red River showdown? The rest of the country just looks at the winner of that game and goes "oh, so that will be the fourth seed that gets their arse kicked in the playoffs once again."

Who cares about The Red River Smackdown of Texas in their own state.
Isn't it played @ 11am every year.
