With OU and Texas joining, the following are:

SI Rankings of best Rivalries

Because the Red River has not meant much, I’d reorder this

1) The Iron Bowl
2) The World’s Largest Cocktail Party
3) The Shoe Throw Bowl
4) Red River Showdown

Nobody outside the Deep South has ever woken up on a Saturday and said “man, I’m looking forward to this Georgia vs Florida game. “

So you speak for everyone outside of the Deep South. Typical ignorant and pompous response from the Texas Fagship.

I'm sure you are correct, the Red River Flowdown means more in New York City and to Left Coast cucks.

Congrats on that, t-sip.

I do believe that LSU and Florida have created a true rivalry since we have gone to the current structure of scheduling with them as our permanent... I really hope that we get to keep that game every year in this new system

May not have a name, a trophy, or in-state competition, but there is alot of hate there.

This isn’t directed at you, OP, it’s just my (worthless) opinion ....

The question of which rivalry is the best is as productive as asking whose grandfather is the best?

Chances are good your university’s rivalry is meaningful to you (as it should be) but probably not as important to me. This needy attitude folks have to proclaim their school’s big rivalry game as the nation’s premier clash is weird.

Enjoy your school’s game, and leave it at that. No reason to try to convince the rest of us we should feel the same.

and you think anyone outside of Texas and Oklahoma cares about the Red River showdown? The rest of the country just looks at the winner of that game and goes "oh, so that will be the fourth seed that gets their arse kicked in the playoffs once again."

I will put the Bama/LSU rivarly against just about any over the last 10 years. Yes Bama has won most of them, but many of the games were tight, all were hate filled, and most were meaningful in the CFB big picture.

The WLOCP consistently has more viewers than your game with OU.

Maybe a quarter of a game a few times

These clowns think they are the pinnacle of college football

15 years ago Texas vs OU was a really big game. I do not say this to insult either the Horns or the Sooners... but the sizzle is off that steak today.

And nobody anywhere ever has woken up thinking “I’m looking forward to this top 5 battle between A&M and Texas with big National implications “….. because it has NEVER happened.

There are big games and really big games. I agree, it is a high profile match up, but compared to where it used to be it has lost a lot of pop off its fastball.

My opinion, and we all know what they say about opinions, is that Texas and Oklahoma are joining the SEC in part because they hope that the move will revitalize the RRS and bring it back to the top tier of games every year.

Its still weird to me that more people watched the Aggies vs Rice than TX vs OU.

Nobody but TX and OU fans care about that game.
