Did Alabamas second running back, fowler or Henry or whoever, play at all last year?
Fowler was the FB last year who was also getting carries in rotation with Lacy/Yeldon for the first two games, but got hurt. He was running really well though, of course he's listed differently, but he's probably around 5'11" and change and 250lbs of muscle. Henry is gonna be a true Freshman, 6'3" 243 pounds, and he's the national High School all time career leader in rushing yards.

Fowler he played but had a horrific well not a bad as Lattimore knee injury. Henry hasn't played a down in college but he is a physically gifted specimen much like TR but probably eight inches taller

Who led the SEC in rushing last year? Oh yeah, a quarterback named Johnny.
This year, Johnny Football + any one of his stable of running backs will be the best running duo in the SEC.

Last year, when we said the same thing, we were told no one cares about our mediocre backs.

Um, what? I think the common saying was that you were overhyping all of them, which turned out to be true.

No. They were all very serviceable, and Blue and Hill were a big step up.

And you overhyped them in the pre season last year. They were all average other than Blue and Hill. When Blue played he was really good and when Hill played he was good.

I didn't overhype anybody. I thought Ware and Ford were decent enough.

Maybe YOU didn't, but your fan base as a whole did. Statements such as all four of them being better than Lacy were thrown around a LOT.

A bunch of retards on a forum does not equal a fan base. This place, by design, is perfect for making outlandish claims with no evidence to back it up. Everyone who posts here is guilty of it.
Open forums eventually devolve into a troll cave, by nature. Ware and Ford were serviceable college RBs that will land on a pro roster for a couple seasons. Blue and Hill may be the best running backs LSU has had in several years.

Success of any running back is dependent on the OLine...
Alabama and LSU are all retooling and it remains to be seen how that will pan out for them. Not sure about Georgia...
So its up for grabs...

True if we include QB.

So you'd leave out the previous season's leading receiver -- in a discussion of 'best receiving tandem' -- if they were a TE?
Best rushing tandem = JFF + whoever gets the most touches between Ben Malena and Brandon Williams.

You do realize the title of this thread is "Best Running Back Combo" and not Best rushing tandem. Bit of a difference there.

All 5 starters return.

Fine. I'll anxiously await the follow-up "which interior defensive lineman will have the most sacks" thread....

Every offensive lineman returns, not just the starters. The entire depth chart. We should be pretty solid.

"Combo" could be interpreted as "three or more" so I am going to answer the only reasonable answer there is:
Brandon Wilds
Mike Davis
Shon Carson
Kendric Salley (darkhorse impact studly)
