For Mizzou it would have to be Kellen Winslow. Pretty decent tight end while at Mizzou but turned into maybe the best tight end ever with the Chargers.

Also, Justin Smith is gaining fast

Legit no doubt and as a Broncos and Razorback fan he is one of my all time favorites.

However, I didn't go with him because he was a two time All-American in college and a first round draft pick.

Another Ole Miss one is Mike Wallace.

If he wouldn't of had a below average season this year he would be a real good one.

Can't believe how much Nutt let that speed go to waste.

Yeah he is. He is a beast.

Kellen Winslow has his name in the ring of honor or something at Mizzou though right. Was he not a great college player?

Doesn't that statement pretty much encapsulate Nutt's coaching tenure though.

It's criminal the amount of talent that goober has wasted over his years of coaching. Nutt is freakin clueless

Sarcasm man. We've still got a solid group in the NFL even after the last four years. Dansby, Grubbs, Rogers, McNeil, Jacobs, Dunlap, Brown , Powers, Spikes, Tate, and Williams and of course Nick and Cam are all still doing pretty well for themselves.

BJGE is not great by any means but I did not even realize he was a good college player when he was at Ole Miss. So I'll go with him

PWillie was a top performer at Ole Miss. BJGE transfered from Indiana at a time where he had others infront of him and shouldn't have cracked the line up but he keep busting loose in practice. He is not fast but had great vision and could fing holes and lanes like no other. He had Walter Peyton type abilities with less speed. He only made the Pats as a practice squad scout team member. Same thing happened there. He is talented for a guy who is not technically fast enough to make it. The fact that he has had a career after not being able to crack the line-up at Indiana is Romo like fortune.

Funny Steve Atwater story....When I lived in Fayetteville, Atwater was still playing for the Broncos. Nolan Richardson used to have a golf tournament in the summer where a lot of the coaches came to play Pinnacle for 2 days and then go to a BBQ at Nolan's ranch during the evening between rounds of golf. Because I volunteered for one of the charities that benefited from this tournament, I got to attend the BBQ at Nolan's ranch. I ended up sitting with Mike Anderson, his wife, and Steve Atwater.

Nolan and Mrs. Rosie have LOTS of pets. Llamas, deer, and a really big Bull Mastif named Bear. Bear is the size of a small pony, but he's the nicest dog in the world. The worst thing that dog could ever do to a person is lick them to death. So...we're walking on the driveway by Nolan's house, and Bear comes out of the house. It was at that point we learned that Steve Atwater is deathly afraid of dogs. Watching this huge NFL headhunter panic at the site of this dog was hilarious.

So y'all do claim Brandon Jacobs for AU?

He scored 2 TD's at AU in '03....
He scored 19 TD's at So.Ill....

Jim Taylor & YA Tittle are running neck-and-neck for best ever from LSU in the NFL.

We've had a ton of players have productive if unspectacular NFL careers. Guys like Laron Landry, Randall Gay, Corey Webster, Andrew Whitworth, Marcus Spears, Bradie James, Kevin Faulk, Josh Reed, Nate Livings, Devery Henderson, Michael Clayton, Kyle Williams, etc.

We've got some budding superstars coming out of DBU w/PP21 & Mo Claiborne, however. I also think this year's crop of players in the draft are going to impress as well.

Like I posted above, Jacobs scored 2 TD's for AU in '03 - he transferred to So.Ill where he scored 19 TD's the next yr.

I've always loved Jason Peters from when he caught that two point conversion against Kentucky in 2003. That was when I felt like I could finally rest easy. That game made me age a few years.

I just looked at the Arkansas NFL Draft Wikipedia page. While not my pick (Peters is), Pat Summerall had a pretty cool career, picked 45th.

quote:

To add to the drama, there were swirling winds and snow. Summerall, a straight-ahead kicker, made the field goal with just two minutes to play ... Giants' offensive coach Vince Lombardi was against sending Summerall in(Summerall had missed 31 yard attempt a few minutes earlier), and then gleefully greeted Summerall as he came off the field 'You son of a bitch, you can't kick it that far!'

Gotcha. He was also at Coffeyville CC for 2 years as well, right?
