Best places to go out in downtown Atlanta?

Downtown downtown isn't really a go out area. Go to Midtown, Highlands, Old 4th Ward around downtown if you want to go out.
If you are doing something today during the day then go to the Beltline and bar hop.

Would recommend Georgia Aquarium. Kinda neat to see whale sharks swimming around. World of Coca~Cola is decent as well. For a quick lunch I'd recommend the Varsity over near Ga Tech. Footlong dogs are great and they have the best onion rings I've ever had! That's about it. I'd say to take an Uber out to SweetWater Brewery, but I don't know whether they're open on Sunday.

ATL is kind of spread out socially, your best general bet is to work your way along the beltline/inman park.
