As an Auburn fan, I would like... If you want to be the best, play the best... If you are good enough you will win your share of games... Who wants to play the Miss. games... This is the way it was when I was growing up and we played UT early and then Amen Corner.. UGA, Florida and Bama every year...
No-one thought it was unfair then... In fact when the SEC first went to 8 teams, it was 5-2-1 and Auburn wanted and got Florida and Georgia as permanents...

Why would those changes make Alabama and Auburn fans happy?

Would be better to drop the "East/West" names and just swap AU and UT. Have AU/UA be the permanent rivalry.
wont happen....

I personally believe there should be no divisions and just have the top 2 teams meet for the championship at the end.

The top 6 in the conference play each other annually, and the bottom 6 play each other.
This is good. I agree.

LSU is just whining.
Look, nobody is happy about 6-1-1. It's the worst possible solution except for all the others that have been proposed so far.
Personally, I'd like to see 6-1-2 but it's not gonna happen anytime soon and probably wouldn't unless the conference expands to 16. ADs would have to be convinced that TV revenue from a 9th game would offset their loss from not playing Charleston Southern or some other rent-a-win.

SEC EAST - Auburn, Alabama, UGA, Tenn, Florida, S. Carolina, Kentucky.
WEST - TAMU, Missouri, Arkansas, LSU, Ole MIss, Miss State, Vandy
I'd rather they move Florida to the West than Vanderbilt. Too bad this won't happen, though. It would be better than playing cross-divisional opponents only twice every 12 years. With these divisions and a 6-2 format, we'd play everybody twice every seven years. Still not ideal, but the best we can do with only eight conference games.

Too much opportunity for teams to end up tied and a clusterfrick of tie-breaker scenarios come into play.

Need divisions to have the CG. Besides, if we didn't have divisions and just lumped all the teams together, what would be the point of having the top two meet? Why not just have the top one be champion?

eally? You'd rather play a bunch of shitty games all season long just to end up in Atlanta?

Does actually going to the games and watching good teams play mean NOTHING to you?

the state of Mississippi makes any division talks impossible.

Because they'd get to keep their precious traditional rivalries with Tennessee and Georgia, and with each other.

For what it's worth, those were the exact divisions just tweeted by WarBlogle as an example of how to keep the traditional rivalries intact.
What source are you using that would make that even close to being discussed?
