But apparently all Bama/UGA/AU/UT fans see is that "we're scared" to play UF.

To be fair, Miles and Alleva aren't helping with their comments.

But I've learned to ignore a lot of shite that Miles says. Or laugh at it.

You never know when he's being forthcoming or "honestly deceptive"

But I wouldn't want to play him in poker. Bluffs like a beast.

FTR, this would all be solved if we went to a 6-2-1.

Or 6-1-2.

But Alleva and most of the ADs don't want a 9th game.

Problem of having unequal home and away conference games.

If they are indeed looking at 6-1-1 for those 4 and 6-2 for the rest as schad alluded to yesterday, I'm sure that will be implemented at some point. There's really not a single valid argument against it.

Saban whined enough about the bye weeks and got his way.

I feel like one of the things that's lost on people is that the schools that had their rivalries did so without having to worry about them being cross-divisional until 1992. That's 90 years (in the case of the Alabama-Tennessee rivalry, that we were able to play the game. Even longer with Georgia and Auburn.) Same with Alabama and Auburn. And same with all of the other teams that are still divisional rivalries. Lots of LSU fans understand this. And you understand that there isn't a perfect solution for every need of every single school. That said, when fans from schools come in and diss something that we value or hold dear, or imply that it's about something altogether different, it's frustrating and rude. None of them are willing to let their precious night games at Tiger Stadium go. And none can have any perspective on what it's like to face losing those games.

Which is all true, but doesn't change the fact that we haven't done it. And I'm skeptical we will. At least it makes those schools show us how important those games are for them.

But that's exactly what we've had to do.

Pretty sure the Alabama LSU game is a guaranteed night game this year. If you stop being good, you can go back to 6:45 on espn. We all have to compromise.

Do you think LSU voted against a CBS contract based on the 2:30 time slot?

You're basically proving my point. We've sacrificed one of our biggest and fondest traditions for the sake of the conference.

I'm in favor of Bama-it and UGA-Aub remaining an annual game.

That said, night games in TS is a bad example. LSU fans hold that tradition more dear to their hearts than either of those four fanbases feel about those two games. So it doesn't jive to say "LSu won't give up night games."... To the contrary LSU has given up tons of night games over the last 15 years.

LSU has compromised and given up plenty of night games for the good of the conference and TV.

And Georgia fans have been somewhat vocal about too many night games at Sanford.

Though there's an easy solution to that problem...

But yeah, you're preaching to the choir. I totally understand the argument of the 4 schools in question.

Hopefully, Schad wasn't bullshitting us though and the ADs are having a serious discussion about the proposal that would allow the rest of us to rotate. I'm totally cool with the four schools preserving their rivalries so long as they are open to discussing "creative" options for the rest of us.

You see the thread asking the four fanbases about it? Seems like they are totally against it. Shocking I know.

T.V. sacrificed this tradition. I'll play at 10:45 a.m. a couple of times a year if it means we are still competing for Championships. Frick CBS though

Okay, now you're losing me.

Bama does not compromise on the rivalry question. It has never been a negotiable. Ever.

It's not like you only get one of them every few years. The point is that LSU does what they can to keep it an option, and to maintain as many of them as they can under the current environment. I don't think it's fair for people to imply that the fans of the schools of the rivalries have agendas other than the fact that they REALLY want to keep the games.

There's like 12 responses and half of them are smartass ones.

Highly scientific survey of a very small minority of people who have very little real say in the matter.

The people in Destin are the only ones whose votes mean shite.
