No matter how large an event in Birmingham, if you drive 2-4 blocks over there will be parking. Not RV parking however, which is why the SEC Tourny won't move downtown.
I get it. There's not shite to do in Hoover, and the new Baron's stadium is great. But the lifeblood of SEC baseball is dem RVs.

Look at the other locations that are being tossed around in this thread. With the exceptions of Corprus Christi - which no one besides the Tamu fans are suggesting - every other city and its metro area meet the requirements to host one of the 187 CFB bowl games.
Although Trustmark is a very nice park, Jackson is not one of those cities.
The CUSA baseball tourney is no where near the same event as an SEC tourney. There aren't enough non-shitty hotels off of Lakeland or near the airport/Trustmark to support 12 SEC teams and their fan bases that would travel.

The SEC should play one or 2 games from the sec tournament, per year, at the new barons stadium

I agree - Hoover sucks. Regions Field is 1000x better.
The problem is that many of these minor league ballparks actually have games going on. While I know it is only a week, the ballpark's schedules would have to be developed awhile out.
