Until they fix the shite-show embarrassment of having the tournament at that Mistake in 'Greater Birmingham', what do you expect?
Its going to come up every year, because its shabby, CUSA behavior from an organization that has a constituency that expects better.

hey DA you know they bid it out and someone is awarded the tournament based on said bid. It is what it is. crowds come to Hoover and the numbers bear this out. Even when Bama is not playing.

Anyone going to Hoover, just go to gabes you’ll have a good time.

"Centrally located" doesn't fricking matter for a baseball tournament.
Just about every team goes, every year.
If it rotated, more schools would have the chance to have their fans there.
As it stands, it's Bama, State and Auburn fans who have that opportunity, and the unfortunate alums of other schools who live in the Birmingham metro area.
You could put it in Dallas, and there are alums of all 14 schools who would be able to attend, who would never make the drive or flight to Birmingham. And chances are, their school would be playing in it.
Atlanta makes sense for football. Rotating baseball (as they do all of the other minor sports) would give more fans an opportunity to attend. I'd never go to it when it was in Florida or Carolina, but I'd sure as hell go if it came to Memphis or Dallas.

Somewhere in the Panhandle ideally Destin.
They have a nice venue right there on Pensacola Bay...……..

You know, they are about to build a casino next to Smokies park in Sevierville Tn.
I had no idea that was happening. The fam and I go there every Memorial Day weekend. That would sure beat having to head to Cherokee to do some gaming.

Yeah I didn't mean it would be impossible, just having a vacant stadium that is centrally located with lots of parking makes things stupid easy.
The parking aspect could make Nashville a bit difficult during the day. The majority of the parking for First Tennessee Park around the stadium is state employee lots during business hours.

If every team goes every year like you said, then wouldn’t it make sense for the tournament to be centrally located?

Need to take New Orleans out of this. Although it'd be awesome to have the tournament here, Zephyr Field----I mean "Baby Cakes Stadium" is such a shitehole. Things are falling apart and that videoboard is junk.

Is this the last year of the contract?

The point is that since most teams go each year, it will be well-attended if it rotates, because you put it in Dallas or Houston, A&M, Arkansas and LSU fans will get their shot to attend.
You put it in Atlanta for a year, you'll see more UGA, UF and South Carolina fans attend.
It's different than football. Two teams go, and the fans of those teams figure out how to get there because it's a bigger deal, and it isn't an "every year thing" (unless you're a Bama fan).
Surely this makes sense.
The only people who advocate for Hoover are those who live within 2 hours of Birmingham. You've had your convenience for the past 20 years. frick off.

A rotation between Birmingham, Nashville, and Gwinnett could work.
Im sorry but no ball park that is the home to this monstrosity should be considered for anything
Anyone who was associated with that should be immediately fired

It runs through 2021.
In 2016, Nashville, New Orleans, Memphis and Jacksonville, Fla. bid to host.

I'm within 2 hours of Bham and would be okay with a rotation between 2 "East" locations and 2 "West" locations
The Hoover stadium just doesn't do anything for me, but has a 10K+ capacity. So...
Year 1: Lawrenceville (10K+ capacity)
Year 2: Memphis (10K capacity)
Year 3: Nashville (10K capacity)
Year 4: Sugar Land (7,500 capacity, really needs to be higher for this idea to work)

Frisco (Dr Pepper 10k) or Round Rock (Dell 11k) have large enough parks.

SEC tournament shouldn’t be that far outside the footprint. Round Rock? GTFO.
