we are receiving the non-severe part of the storm system in OK, but saw where the severe, most elevated part in your area could see some violent tornadic activity.

A tornado just touched down in Robertson County, outside of College Station.
Doubtful we see any baseball today.
Hunker down, if you can.

Thanks for the concern my friend. I am leaving Lowes in Jackson Ms looking for patio furniture. There must be 30 people standing in line with mobile home anchors in their basket. Anybody have a clue to this?

Thanks baw. I’m in north MS. Not too bad here.

I’ve never heard of a mobile home anchor. Time to go down a Google rabbit hole.

No clue. We have some friends in rural Oklahoma who live on some acreage that have mobile homes. I don’t know how they do it.

Funny but sadly, there is an ongoing joke that trailers/mobile homes in Oklahoma are the best tornado repellent for the bigger cities, lol. Except central OKC. Tornadoes don’t care if you live in a mobile home or nice house.

Tornadoes are some scary stuff. We don't really get those too often in Baton Rouge thank goodness. We are more susceptible to hurricanes really.

Tornadoes scare me a lot more than hurricanes. And it's not even close.

I drove through north AL a couple years after that massive tornado ripped through Tuscaloosa. It just mowed a half mile wide lane through the trees. Destroyed everything it touched. Never seen anything like it.

Here in Columbus , Ms it seems we are having watches/warnings all the time. Snakes, sharks and tornadoes scare the shite out of me

Ha! Unfortunately in Houston we get both.
(no blizzards, tho ;))

New warnings popping up every few minutes.
Just another spring day!

If I may ...

Father,
In the midst of storms we sometimes feel helpless and small.
When the weather is dark and dangerous, we are reminded to place our trust in You, our Lord.
Be with those sheltering and responding.
Hear our prayers, Father.
Amen

Yeah, fortunately it appears to be contained to relatively lower population areas so far.
(A few shots [below] from the tornado path in Franklin a little over an hour ago).
I’m in Houston—farther south—and we’re good, friend.

If you’re a weather dork (I am) ... a great shot of the Texas A&M campus from 2 hours ago:

And from the College Station airport:

Those are incredible shots. A few years ago here in BR we had something like that. It was damn near pitch black outside at 9 am. It spooked the crap out of me. I'm used to hurricanes clouds, but that looked like the nothing came rolling in. Might have to be at least late 30s to get "the nothing" reference.
