You have to consider that these other 60+ guys on the Bama team are still the same guys, even without Tua. They’re really good players and well coached. You have to consider that Mac Jones could easily outperform Tua over the next few weeks. You can’t be so quick to penalize this team and this coach because they lost their QB.

We need to channel our ability to see things through a magical lens. I mean, imagine how good they’d be if they still had Tua. Then, imagine how much better their resume would look had they actually beaten LSU. Let’s take things further…. What if D Moses hadn’t gotten hurt? What if they still Had M. Fitzpatrick, or Mt Cody on their defense?

Yes, the eyeballs test is good right now. Certainly playoff worthy. But relax for bit and imagine the above mentioned hypotheticals. Would there be any doubt then, that Bama was a playoff team if those things were a reality? Therein lies the real answer. Which is of course, that Bama should indeed be included in the playoffs. And I’ll still maintain this position even if they lose to Auburn. At that point they’d have “almost” beaten the #1 team in the country, and lost to arguably the best defensive line in the country, you can’t fault a team like this for these type things. They’re coached by Saban, man. Saban. And they will be well rested after not playing in the SECCG.

Convince me I’m wrong.

How many ranked teams has Bama played?

How many ranked teams has Bama beaten?

I'll hang up and listen.

Oregon is the problem that Bama has at this point. That, and no Tua means that the committee isn't going to give them the benefit of a doubt

Eyeball test, bro. Plus, as mentioned, you have to be able to see deeper into things and use your imagination.

Best win over an 8-4 Auburn. Not going to make it this year.

TLDR

But Baylor losing was bad for Bama. Best scenario for them was Baylor winning, then losing to OU in Big 12 title game.

Exactly. And if Bama were grandma, they would indeed have balls. And that's why they should still make the playoffs.

Who beat the ranked and undefeated Baylor team? Maybe that team should get into the playoffs?

Let's be honest, Bama's eye test was Tua. Now that he's out, it's an even steeper uphill climb for them and they have to go to AU this year.

OK I concede.... the post was obviously much funnier in my head than in actuality.

Either that, or you all are simply a bunch of turds in a punchbowl.

It was way too long. Get to the point instead of typing a dissertation.

Joking or not, most people outside of Gumps are tired of hearing about them getting another shot

It's not complicated. If Alabama goes into Auburn and kicks their asses in their own house behind Mac Jones, it will look a helluva lot better than Oregon losing to them on a neutral site.
