Sadly , no. Massangale has informed us they do not make feminine hygiene products that strong because it would kill her. Now that we’ve established that, please come get your mom. In the meantime we will continue the daily bleach baths.

Not true. The whole state of Louisiana has an odor.

I was puzzled by the Shreveport reference too. I am there a few times a year, and there is no bad smell. West Monroe does have a bad smell sometimes from the paper mill, but it really depends on the wind and weather conditions. It certainly isn’t noticeable most of the time.

Stay away from Alex Box Stadium. LSU fans love to call other schools cow colleges, yet their baseball stadium sits right next to a pasture that reeks. The irony is comical.

Your dad sounds like a pussy, glad he left La. Alabama needed help diversifying their inbred gene pool anyway

When I worked in Baton Rouge our Corporate Office in TN wanted all their hospitals to use Maxwell House because they got a good deal. We just laughed and told them it would not work in Louisiana.

Truth.

Every office that cares about their employees in Baton Rouge has Community.

Going to be honest, despite being in the market to buy a new home, I haven't even remotely looked at BR despite a number of very nice places in my price range. Its strictly Ascension and Livingston. I love LSU to death but to hell with Baton Rouge. It is a fantastic place to visit though for a game. We have way better food than the rest of you.

Would you care to explain exactly where this supposed cow pasture is (not that there is anything wrong with cow pastures, after all, LSU is also an A&M college)?

Right across from the gravel lots for Alex Box parking. You can't even deny the smell. It's perpetual. But you're right, nothing wrong with it. It's the hypocrisy that is entertaining.

My dad loves Baton Rouge and hates that he ever left (for Florida), he’s in his late 70’s and could still kick your arse. He’s the furthest thing from a pussy, bitch.

The hate for BR is exclusively from me. Hell, my sister even moved back there voluntarily...lived in the garden district and would still move back even though her house and cars were burglarized repeatedly and a naked rape victim got away from her attacker and ran straight into her house. I don’t get the appeal. Sure, the magnolias and lakes around LSU are pretty...but other than that, it just makes me want to hurl. I went in a gas station on Florida St for some beer a few years ago and was certain that I’d never make it out. And none of that includes the OP’s point about the smell which is still awful.

High crime, high poverty, terrible schools, poor air quality, persistent stink...wtf do you like about it?

I haven’t lived in Louisiana for over 30 years. Shreveport or none of the other cities mentioned here smell. Bourbon Street smells but I’m sure every city has bad days.
