don't think LSU is the no doubt #14 team in the league. The silly part was people acting like it was crazy to put them there. As if only a fool would think LSU finishes #14 in the league this season.
Even Wade said based off of last year he would have ranked LSU there

#20 UT takes on #7 North Carolina this weekend in what should be a huge game for us. Looking to get some revenge for losing the nail biter in Chapel Hill last year
One of my kids is a huge UNC fan. We're travelling to Knoxville to watch this game. I wonder how my Bama hoops sweatshirt will go over...

I’m pretty nervous for Coug High Wednesday. I think we take the L. No Sampson is going to kill us. We only have so many guys that should be playing at this level anyway
We need Sampson bad on defense. He is similar to Garrett Temple when he is on the court defending.

Which is funny bc rumor was he wasn’t playing well on D in preseason camp

No one will care. Basketball is a different animal than football

Not sure how Jacksonville is relevant.
Since Reed Arena opened in 1999, LSU has won there once.
A&M has never won in Bud Walton since it opened in 1993.

Do you. I wouldn't worry about it. There's going to be some nasty looks and I can 100% guarantee you that, but I wouldn't give a shite... But this is coming from the guy who went to his neighbors birthday party (their whole family is die hard hard Bengals fans) decked in Steelers apparel and got mugged the entire time and gave zero fricks. So I'm probably not the most qualified person to ask..
"Happy birthday, bud"

LSU will get better, but LOL at this idea that all of a sudden LSU is going to be a top 3 team in the league because of a Top 5 class.
Right now talent is the huge issue here, a big time recruiting class, and returning some big time players like Waters, Sampson, Mays, will be big for next season. Basketball is one of the easiest sports to have a big turnaround from 1 season to the next. People have Missouri dancing right now after last year's last place finish AND Their #1 overall player not even able to play this year.
Yes the SEC is getting a lot better as a whole, we are just a step behind that right now...but we finally have the coach to get us back towards the top when we simply didn't with Johnson and Jones (despite whatever talent they were dealt). You just never had much confidence in them as a coach, with Wade, it's apparent the guy knows what he's doing. I dont think I've seen a guy meltdown over defense as much as him, he really is trying to light a fire under the asses of our players they HAVE to play defense and it's simply effort. The previous coaching staff just didn't care, so it takes time to re-coach some guys.
Next 2 games will tell us a lot about this LSU team. Potential to pickup 2 good wins, but its going to be damn near impossible without Sampson on the floor for us. He is pivotal to this team's success because it's just not very good without him.
LSU won't finish in the Top half of the conference this year, but Sampson will be back for conference play and we're certainly going to break some hearts in the process of conference play. It will not be last year's 2-16 pushover of a team.

how bad was the SEC in hoops back in '09, A&M was like 4th or 5th in the B12 and beat LSU by double digits that year. we should claim that title as well

SEC COTY in '15-'16 to bottom 3. That's a remarkable drop!

I agree.
Since 2008-2009 Texas A&M beat the SEC Champions by a score of 72-61, A&M should be able to claim the 2009 SEC Title. In fact, A&M went 2-0 vs. the SEC that season, beating Alabama in Tuscaloosa as well.
Back to the topic of Reed Arena though - Here's how LSU has fared at Reed.
2007 - Lost by 26
2013 - Won by 11
2014 - Lost by 10
2015 - Lost by 6
2016 - Lost by 14
2017 - Lost by 30
So, aside from the 2nd-worst A&M team since Billy Gillispie arrived, LSU has lost at Reed Arena by an average of 17 points.
